Top Performers - Running Backs

There were some pretty impressive performances by some of the top JUCO running backs in the country last weekend, both in wins and in losses. Here's a look at who stood out and where they stand so far this season...

-- Navarro RB Tim Wright - Wright rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns on just 17 carries as the Bulldogs routed Cisco by a score of 58-10.

-- Georgia Military RB Jovon Robinson - The talented runner toted the rock 35 times and totaled 196 yards and two scores in a 22-15 win over ASA last weekend.

-- Minnesota West RB Reuben Linton - Linton had 23 carries for 246 yards and four scores ina 38-6 win over Mesabi Range.

-- Northwest Mississippi RB Damian Baker - Baker putup 198 yards and three scores on 16 carries in a 38-23 win over Coahoma.

Blinn RB Klartel Claridy - In Blinn's 28-23 win over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, Claridy rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries.

Mississippi Gulf Coast RB Antwon Wells - Wells had 22 carries for 150 yards and three touchdowns in the Bulldogs' 41-34 win over Hinds.

Fort Scott RB Kyle Hammonds - In the Greyhounds' 62-39 loss to Coffeyville last week, Hammonds totaled 120 yards and three scores on 28 carries.

Dodge City RB Tyreis Thomas - Thomas had another huge game for the Conqs, carrying the ball 23 times for 114 yards and two scores while also hauling in three receptions for 12 yards and he scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime as Dodge City got a 40-34 upset win over Hutchinson.

Nassau RB Travis Lock - The sophomore tailback carried the ball 21 times and totaled 114 yards and one score in the Lions' 34-7 win over Monroe.

Pima RB Seth Ellis - Ellis, who plays both ways for Pima, totaled 92 yards and three scores on 12 carries as the Aztecs rallied to beat Snow 21-14. Ellis scored twice in the final period, including the 11-yard game-winner with 1:26 left.

Copiah-Lincoln RB Kelton Smith - In Co-Lins 23-0 win over East Central, Smith totaled 86 and three scores on 15 touches.

Ventura RB Aaron Stanton - Led Ventura with 240 All Purpose yards and a score. The freshman had 16 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown, hauled in four receptions for 42 yards as well as returning three kickoffs for 78 yards in their thrilling 44-42 win over Long Beach.

Allan Hancock RB Peter Barry - Barry racked up 201 yards on 19 carries, including one to took 91 yards to the house in Allan Hancock's 51-27 loss the El Camino last weekend.

Mt. San Antonio RB Jamal Overton - Overton ran for 175 yards on 24 carries and two touchdowns and hauled in two receptions for 12 yards as the Mounties blew out Bakersfield 40-9.

Long Beach RB John Panteau - Panteau ran for 123 yards on 23 carries but Long Beach still dropped to 0-2 with a 44-42 loss to Ventura.

Victor Valley RB Daryon Mosley - Mosley ran for 220 yards and had 4 touchdowns as Victor Valley trounced West Los Angeles 52-24.

Grossmont RB Treyous Jarrells - In the Griff's 63-7 win over San Diego Mesa, Jarrells managed to rush for 169 yards and three touchdowns.

Chaffey RB Michael Boyd - The freshmain tailback totaled 159 and two scores on 23 carries in Chaffey's 30-27 loss to Santa Monica.

Golden West RB Marcus Hays - Hays carried the ball 19 times for 124 yards as Golden West blasted L.A. Harbor 48-17.

Mt. San Jacinto RB Michael Harrison - Harrison was a real workhorse in the Eagles tough 38-31 loss to L.A. Pierce last weekend. For the day, the sophomore totaled 112 yards and three scores on 30 carries while hauling in five receptions for 75 yards and another touchdown.

City College of San Francisco RB Daivon Ballard - The sophomore tailback carried the ball 16 times for 159 yards and one touchdown in the Rams' 21-8 win over Laney.

Los Medanos RB Shawn Vasquez - As Los Medanos was beating Cabrillo by a score of 26-3, Vasquez was having a career day, carrying the ball 18 times for 183 yards and two touchdowns.

Contra Costa RB Davonte Sapp-Lynch - Contra Costa lost a hard-fought game to DeAnza last week, but Sapp-Lynch managed to keep the Comets in the game with his 17 carries for 116 yards and two scores.

Fresno RB Micah Ledezma - Ledezma had touchdown runs of 28 and 80 yards and finished the day by rushing for 139 yards on seven (yes seven) carries in a 76-19 win over Merced.

Modesto RB/WR Ricky Fuentes - Fuentes had 11 carries for 136 yards and hauled in a 21-yard reception in Modesto's 61-28 win over Hartnell.

Modesto RB Anthony Cota - Cota, not to be outdone by his teammate, also had a big day in Modesto's 61-28 win over Hartnell, carrying the ball 24 times for 132 yards and two scores.

Santa Rosa RB K'Lan Anderson - In the Bear Cubs' 34-20 win over Diablo Valley, Anderson toted the ball 22 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

College of San Mateo RB George Naufahu - The sophomore tailback finished with 20 carries for 140 yards and a touchdowns as CSM went on to beat Chabot 28-7. In two games so far this year, Naufahu has 222 yards and four touchdowns, helping the Bulldogs get out to a 2-0 start.

San Joaquin Delta RB Theo Wofford - Wofford ground out 140 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries and also had two receptions for 12 yards as the Mustangs got a 52-6 win over Reedley last weekend.

Feather River RB Farrell Victor - While his teammate, WR LaVon Pearson was having a record-setting day, Victor just went about his business and finished with 145 yards and two scores on 25 carries while also posting one reception for seven yards, but the Golden Eagles still lost to Sierra by a score of 46-43.
