Top Performers - Quarterbacks

Several top JUCO quarterbacks had big games over the weekend, but it was Long Beach freshman Kenny Potter who really stood out with a great game as both a passer and a runner in a close loss to El Camino last Saturday. Here is a look at his day plus several more top performances from signal-callers last week and where things stand so far this season...

Long Beach QB Kenny Potter - The freshman was outstanding in Long Beach's 35-33 loss to El Camino last Saturday as he completed 16 of his 19 attempts for 332 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions and he also ran for 98 yards and three more scores in the loss.

Chaffey QB Dimitri Morales In the Panthers' 39-28 win over Victor Valley, the freshman signal-caller went 13 of 25 for 156 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 218 yards on 16 carries as well. While he hasn't put up prolific numbers throwing the ball, in three games this season, Morales has been efficient, completing 56.1% of his attempts for 493 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions and he leads the team with 355 yards as well as one touchdown on the ground.

Santa Barbara QB Jarred Evans - Evans had a big day for Santa Barbara, going 25 of 42 for 335 yards with two touchdowns and an interception and he also used his legs to rush for 56 more yards in the Vaqueros' 25-23 win over L.A. Valley.

L.A. Valley QB Patrick Tyler - The freshman has helped lead his team to a 3-1 record by completing 59.0% of his passes for 1,190 yards with 12 touchdowns and four picks and rushing for 113 yards and two more scores. Last week, in Valley's 25-23 loss to Santa Barbara, Tyler hit on 28 of his 46 attempts for 307 yards and a touchdown and he also rushed for 32 yards and two more touchdowns in a losing effort.

Grossmont QB William Abt - The Griffin's outlasted Santa Ana by a score of 39-35 and Abt's productivity was a big reason as he hit on 50% of his passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Riverside QB Skyler Howard - Howard went 27 of 35 for 448 yards seven touchdowns and one interception in Riverside's 71-0 blowout win over L.A. Harbor.

El Camino QB Cole Webb - Webb hit on 15 of his 28 attempts for 299 yards one touchdown and one interception and he used his legs to rush for 85 yards and two more scores as El Camino got a 35-33 win over Long Beach.

Sacramento QB Justin Moore - Moore completed 35 of his 49 pass attempts for 365 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, but the Panthers still dropped their game with Reedley by a score of 22-19.

American River QB Jake Bist - The freshman completed 21 of his 35 attempts for 227 yards with five touchdowns and one interception in the Beavers' 55-21 win over Santa Rosa. The ARC staff has brought Bist along slowly, but the past couple of weeks he's really started to come along. So far this season, while helping to lead American River to a 4-0 record, Bist has completed 57.1% of his passes for 588 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions.

College of the Sequoias QB Raul Alvarez - In a back-and-forth game with Foothill, Alvarez went 30 of 44 for 312 yards and four touchdowns and he also rushed for another score as the Giants came away with a thrilling 37-36 win.

Feather River QB Ja'Quay Garmon - Garmon hit on 23 of his 37 attempts for 368 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions as the Golden Eagles managed to pull away from Merced to get a 41-28 win and get to 2-2 on the season.

City College of San Francisco QB Turner Baty - Baty was outstanding in the Rams 61-0 win over Fresno last week. The sophomore completed 22 of his 32 attempts for 358 yards with six touchdowns and no picks.

Hutchinson QB Luke Barnes - Barnes completed 26 of his 34 attempts for 310 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 39 more and another score as the Blue Dragons posted a 36-20 win over what is proving to be an improved Highland squad. The sophomore gun-slinger has completed 58.6% of his passes for 1.091 yards , 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. Barnes is also a solid punter and has averaged 37 yards on 27 punts, dropping 10 inside the 20 and he has a long of 65.

East Mississippi QB Dontreal Pruitt - Pruitt was a key reason the Lions got a 90-7 win over Coahoma last week, hitting on 22 of his 28 attempts for 378 yards and five touchdowns. The sophomore signal-caller just continues to have an outstanding season as he's completed 69.7% of his passes for 1,745 yards with 21 touchdowns and only two interceptions while rushing for 201 yards and three more scores and leading EMCC to a 5-0 record.

Itawamba QB Griff Loftis - Loftis hit on 27 of his 39 attempts for 375 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Indians' 27-21 win over Northwest Mississippi.

Copiah-Lincoln QB Daniel Fitzwater - In the Wolfpack's 50-47 loss to Jones, Fitzwater completed 25 of his 40 attempts for 369 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.

Central Lakes QB Andrew Johnson - Johnson went 15 of 26 349 yards in a 40-23 win over MSCTC-Fergus Falls last weekend.

Kilgore QB Tanner Tausch - The sophomore gun-slinger completed 25 of his 42 attempts for 345 yards with three touchdowns in a 31-6 win over Cisco.

New Mexico Military QB Quinn Billerman - Billerman went 17 of 31 for 322 yards and three touchdowns the Broncos' 23-20 overtime win over Snow.
