Top Performers - Linebackers

Last weekend, some JUCO linebackers put up big numbers in both wins and losses. Here is a look at who did what and how their seasons are coming along...

Garden City LB Dvonta Derricott - In the Broncbusters' 20-10 loss to Bulter, Derricott had 13 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss.

Mississippi Delta LB Terrelle Williams - Posted 12 tackles and one pass breakup in Delta's 34-27 win over Northwest Mississippi on Saturday. In five games so far this season, the sophomore has posted a team-leading 62 tackles, one sack and three tackles-for-loss.

Trinity Valley LB Josh Pickett - Pickett had 12 tackles (all solo) and two tackles-for-loss in the Cardinals' 44-23 win over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. The sophomore has leads TVC with 59 tackles (45 solo) to go along with four tackles-for-loss, one sack and a forced fumble.

Copiah-Lincoln LB Jordan Harris - In Co-Lin's 48-7 win over Itawamaba, Harris totaled 15 tackles (13 solo) and one tackle-for-loss. In six games, the sophomore has totaled 89 tackles (57 solo), 12.5 tackles-for-loss and 2.5 sacks.

Coffeyville LB Mike Shirk - In the Red Ravens' 21-14 loss to Highland, the freshman totaled 14 tackles (10 solo).

Dean LB Jason Sylva - Sylva continued to put up big numbers with 15 tackles in Dean's 55-17 loss to ASA. In five games, the sophomore middle linebacker has racked up 50 tackles, four tackles-for-loss and an interception.

Snow LB Sunia Tauteoli - In Snow's 35-28 loss to Eastern Arizona, the freshman had 16 tackles (nine solo) and 2.5 tackles-for-loss.

Jones LB Jamal Lucas - Lucas led the Bobcats with 12 tackles (nine solo) in their 47-0 win over East Central.

Feather River LB Kyle Newsom - Newsom had 10 tackles, two sacks and 2.5 tackles-for-loss in Feather River's 75-45 win over Shasta last weekend. In five games so far this season, the talented linebacker has posted 51 tackles and five sacks while helping to lead the Golden Eagles to a 3-2 record.

Hartnell LB Rodrigo De La Cruz - De La Cruz totaled 15 tackles (eight solo) in Hartnell's 45-14 loss to Laney.

College of San Mateo LB Semisi Paea - The freshman had four tackles (three solo), two tackles-for-loss and two sacks as the Bulldogs downed San Joaquin Delta by a score of 42-14.

Grossmont LB Christopher Collins - Collins had 14 tackles (11 solo), one sack and one tackle-for-loss in the Griff's 77-19 win over Orange Coast. In five games, Collins has posted 31 tackles (22 solo), 3.5 tackles-for-loss and a sack.

Butte LB Brian Anderson - Anderson put up gaudy numbers in a 68-40 win over Modesto last weekend. The sophomore totaled 12 tackles (10 solo) and a tackle-for-loss. In five games he has 34 tackles (21 solo), three tackles-for-loss and a sack.

Modesto LB Stephen Thayer - Thayer totaled 13 tackles (eight solo) and a tackle-for-loss in Modesto's 68-40 loss to Butte.

El Camino LB Nikorey Benyard - Benyard had 10 tackles (five solo), 1.5 sacks and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in the Warriors' 33-28 win over L.A. Harbor.

L.A. Harbor LB Abraham Cornejo - The freshman had 10 tackles (nine solo) in the Seahawks' 33-28 loss to El Camino.

Golden West LB Anthony McNichols - In Golden West's 42-10 win over Palomar, the sophomore totaled 11 tackles (10 solo), one forced fumble and one interception. So far this season, in five games, McNichols has racked up 42 tackles (30 solo), one sack, three interceptions and one forced fumble.

Southwestern LB Khaalid Abdullah - Abdullah racked up 10 tackles, two sacks, two hurries and he recorded a safety in the Jaguars' 35-10 win over East Los Angeles.

Chaffey LB Melvin Williams - The freshman had two tackles, two sacks and two tackles-for-loss in Chaffey's 53-0 win over Compton.

Santa Monica LB Daveed Carter - Carter totaled 12 tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss, and was named the Pacific Conference Defensive Player of the Week in Santa Monica's 44-28 win over Glendale.

El Camino LB Kristopher Bass - Bass had eight tackles (seven solo), one sack and four tackles-for-loss in El Camino's 33-28 win over L.A. Harbor.
