Top Performers - Linebackers

Here's a quick look at which JUCO linebackers had big games last weekend including Santa Barbara's Morgan Nevin who put up huge numbers in his team's loss to Santa Monica...

Santa Barbara LB Morgan Nevin - The sophomore had 28 tackles (10 solo) and two tackles-for-loss in the Vaqueros' 38-17 loss to Santa Monica. Nevin has posted a team-leading 126 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and an interception.

College of the Siskiyous LB Alex Henderson - Henderson totaled 12 tackles (six solo), three tackles-for-loss, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry in Siskiyous' 24-21 win over Diablo Valley. Henderson leads his team with 95 tackles while also posting 4.5 tackles-for-loss in nine games.

Victor Valley LB Jimmy Musgrave - Musgrave posted nine tackles (five solo), a sack and a tackle-for-loss in the Rams' 52-0 win over Compton. The talented sophomore had 77 tackles, eight sacks, 15 sacks, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery while helping lead Victor Valley to a 5-3 record.

El Camino LB Kristopher Bass - Bass had 21 tackles (13 solo) and two tackles-for-loss but the Warriors still dropped their game with Citrus by a score of 42-28. The sophomore linebacker leads El Camino with 98 tackles and 16 tackles-for-loss and he also has 2.5 sacks and an interception.

L.A. Pierce LB Martin Henry - Henry had an outstanding game in the Brahmas' 22-13 win over Antelope Valley last weekend as he totaled eight tackles (three solo), 2.5 tackles-for-loss and two sacks.

Fresno LB Nate Palomino - In the Rams' 44-28 win over San Joaquin Delta, Palomino had 10 tackles, a sack and a tackle-for-loss. This season, the sophomore has totaled 43 tackles, oene sack and two tackles-for-loss.

Reedley LB Josh Boulware - Boulware had 16 tackles (10 solo), a sack, a tackle-for-loss and a pass breakup. The sophomore leads Reedley with 69 tackles, 6.5 tackles-for-loss and 3.5 sacks in eight games this season.

Southwestern LB Daniel Flores - The freshman totaled seven tackles (five solo), two sacks and three tackles-for-loss in the Jaguars' 42-6 win over Mt. San Jacinto.

L.A. Valley LB Steven Flandez - In the Monarchs' 28-11 loss to Glendale, the sophomore had a game-high 14 tackles (six solo). In six games so far this season, Flandez has racked up 36 tackles, a sack, three tackles-for-loss and one interception.

Feather River LB Will Johnson - Johnson had 11 tackles, one sack and one tackle-for-loss in Feather River's 47-13 win over Chabot last weekend. This season the sophomore has 51 tackles, four sacks, eight tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble.

Allan Hancock RB Demetrius Johnson - Johnson had 13 tackles (10 solo) in Allan Hancock's 28-20 loss to Ventura. The sophomore linebacker leads the Bulldogs with 78 tackles and he's also posted 5.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble.

Cabrillo LB Caleb Slaughter - Slaughter, a converted running back, had 12 tackles (eight solo), seven sacks, 8.5 tackles-for-loss and one forced fumble in Cabrillo's 32-22 win over Monterey.

College of the Canyons LB Ryan McAleenan - The freshman had eight tackles (all solo), two sacks and one tackle-for-loss in COC's 35-17 win over Moorpark.

Moopark LB Travis Key - Key had 10 tackles (eight sacks), 1.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles-for-loss in Moorpark's 35-17 loss to College of the Canyons. The sophomore leads the Raiders with 64 tackles and is tied for the team lead with nine tackles-for-loss. He's also posted 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and an interception as well.

Modesto LB Brandon Camara - Camara totaled a team-high 10 tackles (five solo) while also posting a sack and two tackles-for-loss in Modesto's thrilling 43-42 win over American River last weekend.

West Los Angeles LB William Wiley-Yancy - The instinctive linebacker had 13 tackles (all solo), but West L.A. still lost their game with L.A. Southwest by a score of 23-19. Wiley-Yancey leads the Cougars with 69 tackles and ranks third on the team with five tackles-for-loss.

Bakersfield LB Grant Campbell - Campbell had 12 tackles, a sack and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in Bakersfield's 42-24 loss to Cerritos. The sophomore has been a tackling machine for the Gades the past two seasons and he currently leads them with 88 tackles while also posting seven tackles-for-loss and two sacks.

Dodge City LB Josh Williams - Williams totaled 14 tackles (five solo), a sack and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in Dodge City's 21-6 loss to Hutchinson over the weekend. The freshman has had an outstanding 2013 season and leads the Conqs in tackles with 84 and also has chipped in with a sack, two tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

Central Lakes LB Josh Johnson - The freshman had eight tackles (four solo), two sacks, 2.5 tackles-for-loss and one interception in the Raiders' 33-6 win over Northland. This season, Johnson has led Central Lakes with 71 tackles and 16 tackles-for-loss while also posting 5.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and is tied for the team-lead with four interceptions.

Lackawanna LB Raynard Revels - Revels had seven tackles (six solo), one sack and a tackle-for-loss in the Falcons' 23-20 win over Dean last weekend. The freshman leads Lackawanna with seven sacks while also posting 41 tackles and 10.5 tackles-for-loss.

Hudson Valley LB Rashar Gray - The freshman had five tackles (all solo), two sacks and two tackles-for-loss in Hudson Valley's 41-14 loss the Alfred State.

Ellsworth LB Devante Averette - The Oklahoma State commit led the Panthers with 15 tackles (eight solo) and 5.5 tackles-for-loss and also posted a sack in Ellsworth's 21-20 loss to Iowa Central. The sophomore ranks second on the team with 77 tackles while also posting three sacks, a team-leading 23.5 tackles-for-loss to go along with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Arizona Western LB Antonio Kinard - Kinard posted 13 tackles (five solo) and a tackle-for-loss in the Matadors' 36-28 loss to Snow last weekend. The redshirt freshman leads Arizona Western with 87 tackles while also posting 10.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception.

Snow LB Sunia Tauteoli - The freshman posted 14 tackles (eight solo), a tackle-for-loss and a pass breakup in the Badgers' 36-28 win over Arizona Western last weekend.

East Mississippi LB Laderrick Roberts - Roberts had 11 tackles (nine solo), two tackles-for-loss and an interception in the Lions' 45-28 win over Mississippi Gulf Coast. The sophomore ranks second on EMCC with 64 tackles while also posting a sack, five tackles-for-loss, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions.

North Dakota State College of Science LB Marquez Thomas - Thomas had 12 tackles (eight solo) and three pass breakups in NDSCS's 30-21 win over Dakota College at Bottineau. The freshman leads the Wildcats with 88 tackles while also posting 10.5 tackles-for-loss, one sack, one forced fumble and an interception as well as six pass breakups.

New Mexico Military LB Lakel Bass - Bass totaled 13 tackles (10 solo) and a tackle-for-loss in the Broncos' 48-31 loss to Mesa last weekend. The freshman has racked up 57 tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks this year.
