Top Performers - Defensive Linemen

We're coming down the homestretch of the regular season in California and the NJCAA is already into their playoffs. Here's a look at some of the top JUCO DL performances from last weekend including ASA's Cory Johnson who spent a lot of time in his opponents' backfield...

ASA DT Cory Johnson - Johnson had a huge game for the Avengers last week, totaling 10 tackles (eight solo), two sacks and 6.5 tackles-for-loss as ASA held Louisburg to just 144 yards of total offense in a 43-5 win. The sophomore leads his team with 41 tackles and 12.5 tackles-for-loss and has also posted four sacks on the season.


Hutchinson DT Jeremiah Ledbetter - The talented freshman totaled nine tackles (three solo), one sack, one tackle-for-loss, one interception and four quarterback hurries in the Blue Dragons' 21-6 win over Dodge City. This season, Ledbetter has totaled 50 tackles, five sacks, seven tackles-for-loss and an interception.


Dodge City DT Terrell Clinkscales - Clinkscales had four tackles (two solo), a sack and two tackles-for-loss in Dodge City's 21-6 loss to Hutchinson last weekend. This season, the sophomore finished with the team-lead in sacks with three and 9.5 tackles-for-loss to go along with 39 tackles.


Butler DT Stephon Hall - Hall had a huge game for the Grizzlies in their 38-7 win over Highland as he finished with a game-high three sacks and four tackles-for-loss and tied for the team lead in tackles with six (all solo).


Lackawanna DT Jontavious Mack - Mack had five tackles (three solo), one sack and three tackles-for-loss in the Falcons' 23-20 win over Dean last weekend. This season, the sophomore has totaled 35 tackles, four sacks and 11 tackles-for-loss.


Hudson Valley DE Naheshema Jackson-Sutton - The freshman led Hudson Valley with nine tackles (six solo) and four tackles-for-loss and he also chipped in a sack in his team's 41-14 loss to Alfred State last weekend.


Iowa Central DT Kyle Terlow - In Iowa Central's 21-20 win over Ellsworth, Terlow posted eight tackles (seven solo), one sack and three tackles-for-loss.


East Mississippi DT Jarran Reed - Reed totaled eight tackles (six solo), 2.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and he also had a fumble recovery in EMCC's big 45-28 win over Mississippi Gulf Coast last weekend.


North Dakota State College of Science DT Bryson Johnson - The sophomore had 10 tackles (seven solo), one sack and two tackles-for-loss in the Wildcats' 30-21 win over Dakota College at Bottineau.


Jones College DE Lazarus Shelby - Shelby finished with nine tackles (six solo), one sack, four tackles-for-loss and a fumble recovery in Jones' 49-21 win over Itawamba last weekend. So far this season, the sophomore has totaled 41 tackles, six sacks, seven tackles-for-loss, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and he's also blocked a kick as well.


Glendale DE Ryan Orr - Orr posted four tackles (two solo), two sacks and two tackles-for-loss in Glendale's big 31-6 win over Pima.


Mesa DE Whitney Richardson - Richardson posted seven tackles (three solo), 3.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles-for-loss in Mesa's 48-31 win over New Mexico Military last weekend.


Diablo Valley DT Tui Talia - Talia, who is an Oregon commitment, totaled 13 tackles (10 solo), a sack and 2.5 tackles-for-loss in DVC's 24-21 loss to College of the Siskiyous. The sophomore has leads the Vikings with 56 tackles, 11 sacks and 15 tackles-for-loss to go along with two forced fumbles and three pass breakups.


Santa Monica DT Corey Sweets - The freshman totaled four tackles (three solo), a sack and two tackles-for-loss in the Corsairs' 38-17 win over Santa Barbara last weekend. This season, in eight games, Sweets has totaled 29 tackles, two sacks and 5.5 tackles-for-loss.


City College of San Francisco DE Micah McMurray - McMurray totaled four tackles (all solo), a sack, two tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble as the Rams got a 35-0 win over Foothill.


College of San Mateo DT Rika Levi - Levi didn't post a sack, but he did have eight tackles (six solo) and 2.5 tackles-for-loss, but CSM still dropped their game with Butte by a score of 28-20. The sophomore has racked up 33 tackles, three sacks, 10 tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble so far this season.


West Hills DL Maurice Daniels - Daniels had three tackles (two solo), 2.5 tackles-for-loss, 2.5 sacks and an interception in West Hills' 39-30 win over Reedley. This season, the talented freshman has totaled 19 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 5.5 tackles-for-loss, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and two interceptions.


Glendale DE Justin Slaughter - The sophomore totaled five tackles (two solo), 1.5 sacks and two tackles-for-loss in Glendale's 28-11 win over L.A. Valley last weekend.


Chabot DE Corey Faiva - The sophomore had five tackles (four solo), two sacks and three tackles-for-loss, but Chabot still dropped their game with Feather River by a score of 47-14. Faiva has posted a team-leading five sacks and 8.5 tackles-for-loss to go along with 28 tackles and a fumble recovery so far this season.


Gavilan DE William Lee - Lee posted nine tackles (four solo), a sack and three tackles-for-loss in Gavilan's 42-10 win over West Valley last weekend. The sophomore leads the Rams in tackles (58), sacks (four), tackles-for-loss (18) and forced fumbles (four).


Golden West DE Delroy Steele - Steele had five tackles (three solo), two sacks and two tackles-for-loss in the Rustlers' 52-7 win over Orange Coast. The sophomore leads Golden West in sacks with eight and is tied for the team lead with 9.5 tackles-for-loss while also posting 30 tackles and two forced fumbles.


Golden West DE Anthony Davis - In the Golden West's 52-7 win over Orange Coast, Davis had a game-high three sacks and three tackles-for-loss while also posting four tackles (all solo).


San Jose DE Felix N'twa - The Jags lost their game with Hartnell by a score of 34-7, but N'twa still had a solid game as he posted two tackles (both solo), two sacks and two tackles-for-loss. This season, the sophomore has totaled 25 tackles, two sacks and 11 tackles-for-loss.


San Diego Mesa DE Luke Shawley In the Olympians' 46-13 loss to San Bernardino, Shawley put up big numbers as he totaled 12 tackles (eight solo), two sacks, 4.5 tackles-for-loss and two forced fumbles. The sophomore leads San Diego Mesa with 53 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 20.5 tackles-for-loss and also has posted two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.


Los Angeles Harbor DT Mao Tosi - Tosi, a converted offensive lineman, has had a solid freshman season for the Seahawks this fall as he's racked up 32 tackles, six sacks, 7.5 tackles-for-loss and one fumble recovery including last weekend when he posted seven tackles (six solo), two tackles-for-loss, two sacks, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble in his team's 29-17 loss to College of the Desert.
