Things are picking up for Are

Heading into the season, Fort Scott OT Kareem Are (6-6, 320) was one of the top JUCO offensive tackles available. However, things on the recruiting front took a while to take off. That has definitely changed since the end of the Greyhounds' season as two new offers have rolled in and he's set up a visit with one of those programs...

Assistant coach Moses Harper updated JCFootball.com that Are has received offers from South Carolina and Penn State and that the talented offensive lineman has scheduled a visit with the Nittany Lions for the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Those two offers join the one Are already had from Florida State and Harper said that Nebraska could be close to offering as well.

Are is a two-time First Team All-Jayhawk Conference selection as well as First Team All-Region 6 as a freshman in 2012.

He is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two starting in the fall of 2014.
