Top Performers - Linebackers

With the NJCAA regular season completed, only the California JUCO programs were playing this past weekend. Here's a look at which linebackers had big games including Sierra's Austin Wyatt who's huge afternoon helped lead the way to a big 23-13 win over American River on Saturday...

Sierra LB Austin Wyatt - Wyatt posted 12 tackles (seven solo), two sacks and 3.5 tackles-for-loss in the Wolverines' 23-13 win over American River last weekend. This season the freshman has led Sierra with 105 tackles and 14 tackles-for-loss while also posting four sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception and five pass break ups.


Mendocino LB Ray Moon - Moon had a solid game for the Eagles in their 33-23 loss to Yuba on Saturday as he posted 14 tackles (six solo) and a tackle-for-loss. The sophomore finished the season by leading his team with 82 tackles and is tied for the team lead with two sacks while also posting 7.5 tackles-for-loss in 10 games.

Fresno LB Nate Palomino - The sophomore totaled four tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in Fresno's 78-42 win over College of the Seqouias. Palomino has posted 54 tackles, two sacks, 3.5 tackles-for-loss, a forced fumble and an interception.


City College of San Francisco LB James Hickman - Hickman posted 17 tackles, half a sack and three tackles-for-loss, but the Rams still dropped their game with Butte by a score of 47-18. The sophomore leads CCSF with 74 tackles and ranks second on the team with 12 tackles-for-loss while also posting a sack, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries.


City College of San Francisco LB Nick Holt - Holt totaled 11 tackles (six solo) in CCSF's 47-18 loss to Butte. The redshirt sophomore, a bounceback from Washington and Montana, ranks second on the Rams with 61 tackles while also posting 7.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and an interception.


Butte LB Brian Anderson - In the Roadrunners' 47-18 win over City College of San Francisco , Anderson totaled eight tackles (six solo), two tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble, one pass break up and a fumble recovery. The sophomore has been a stalwart for Butte this season totaling 62 tackles, two sacks, 10 tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.


Santa Monica LB Dajuan Perryman - Perryman totaled 10 tackles (six solo) in Santa Monica's 57-30 win over Antelope Valley. While playing in nine of his team's 10 games, the freshman has racked up 40 tackles, 2.5 sacks, is tied for the team-lead with 9.5 tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble.


Santa Ana LB Troy Kurtz - The freshman totaled 11 tackles (seven solo), a sack and three tackles-for-loss in the Dons' 56-35 loss to Fullerton last weekend. In eight games this season, Kurtz has totaled 52 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 6.5 tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble.


Merced LB Garret Nevitt - Nevitt posted 15 tackles (12 solo), two tackles-for-loss and a pass break up in Merced's 41-21 win over West Hills on Saturday. The freshman ranks second on the team with 80 tackles and has also posted a sack, 4.5 tackles-for-loss, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception.


Shasta LB Brett Cabral - The sophomore totaled 10 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and a pass break up in Shasta's 62-46 win over College of the Redwoods.


San Jose LB Lafaele Pauli - Pauli had 13 tackles (six solo) in San Jose's 19-7 win over West Valley. The sophomore leads his team with 82 tackles and also had 6.5 tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble on the season.


San Jose LB Mike Dingillo - The freshman had 13 tackles (seven solo) and an interception in San Jose's 19-7 win over West Valley.


Reedley LB Josh Boulware - Reedley got blown out by 47-6 by Chabot, but Boulware still had a huge game on the stat sheet totaling 12 tackles (nine tackles), 4.5 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble that he recovered and returned 52 yards for a touchdown and an interception. The sophomore has had a huge season for the Tigers this fall, totaling 100 tackles and 17 tackles-for-loss while posting four sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and an interception.


Contra Costa LB Jarmon Coleman - The sophomore totaled 11 tackles (10 solo), one sack and two tackles-for-loss in Contra Costa's 33-26 loss to Los Medanos. Coleman is tied for the team lead in sacks with nine and ranks second on the team with 13 tackles-for-loss and four passes defensed.


College of the Canyons LB Joey Cicoria - The sophomore totaled 12 tackles, one sack, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble in COC's 34-29 loss to Allan Hancock over the weekend. This season, Cicoria leads the Cougars with 68 tackles while posting eight tackles-for-loss, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble and three interception.


Moorpark LB Safari Bolden - The freshman was a menace for the Raiders is their huge 28-19 win over Cerritos on Saturday as he totaled 11 tackles (six solo), 3.5 tackles-for-loss and 3.5 sacks. In 10 games this season, Bolden led Moopark with 7.5 sacks while also posting 41 tackles and eight tackles-for-loss.


Cerritos LB Anthony Carrion - Carrion had nine tackles, one sack and a tackle-for-loss in Cerritos' 28-19 loss to Moopark. The sophomore finished the regular season with 40 tackles, two sacks, three tackles-for-loss, one fumble recovery and a pass break up.


Monterey Peninsula LB Rufino Calderon - Calderon had 10 tackles (nine solo), one sack, a tackle-for-loss and a fumble recovery, but Monterey Peninsula still dropped their game with Hartnell by a final score of 38-9. The freshman led the Wolfpack with 64 tackles while also posting 9.5 tackles-for-loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception.


Monterey Peninsula LB Joseph Griffin - Griffin, a freshman, finished with four tackles, four sacks and four tackles-for-loss in the Wolfpack's 38-9 loss to Hartnell. Griffin finished the regular season with nine sacks and 11 tackles-for-loss while also posting 21 tackles.


Citrus LB Darius Andres - Andres finished with 11 tackles (six solo), half a sack, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and one fumble recovery. The sophomore finished the regular season with 43 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 5.5 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a pass break up.


Southwestern LB Khaalid Abdullah - The sophomore had 11 tackles (eight solo), one sack and three tackles-for-loss in the Jags' 39-20 loss to Chaffey. Abdullah finished with 59 tackles, six sacks, 10.5 tackles-for-loss, a forced fumble and two pass break ups.


Long Beach LB Cale Dester - Dester had 21 tackles (five solo), one sack and 2.5 tackles-for-loss in Long Beach's 55-10 win over College of the Desert. The sophomore finished the season with 72 tackles, five tackles-for-loss and a sack.


Mt. San Antonio LB Elijah Lagafuaina - Lagafuaina had 14 tackles (five solo)9 and two tackles-for-loss in the Mounties' 33-30 loss to Riverside on Saturday. The sophomore finished the regular season with 59 tackles, two sacks, nine tackles-for-loss and eight pass break ups.


Riverside LB Bryce Smith - Smith helped lead the way to the Tigers' thrilling 33-30 win over Mt. San Antonio by finishing with 10 tackles (three solo) and 1.5 tackles-for-loss. The freshman has been outstanding all season for Riverside, leading the team with 64 tackles while also posting four tackles-for-loss and an interception.


Riverside LB Niam Colbert - Colbert finished with 10 tackles (three solo), one tackle-for-loss and a fumble recovery in Riverside's 33-30 win over Mt. San Antonio.


San Diego Mesa LB Josh Kilmer - The freshman had 15 tackles (three solo) and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in Mesa's 31-17 loss to East Los Angeles. He finished the season with 67 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, 4.5 tackles-for-loss and an interception.


L.A. Valley LB Steven Flandez - Flandez finished with 12 tackles (seven solo), one sack and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in L.A. Valley's 17-14 win over L.A. Southwest. The sophomore finished the season with 57 tackles, two sacks, 5.5 tackles-for-loss and a pick.
