Offer Updates On Riverside Prospects

Riverside faces off against Golden West this weekend, but things on the recruiting front continue to hum along for some of their top prospects. Associate Head Coach Darrin Chiaverini updated JCFootball.com on some new offers that have come in for three of the Tigers and where things stand with them so far in the recruiting process...

QB Skyler Howard - Howard has had a very solid season for Riverside. He hasn't put up the huge numbers people have become accustomed to for Tiger quarterbacks, but that has more to do with the fact that they have a stable of very good tailbacks to rely on. Still, the freshman has connected on 66.3% of his passes for 2,728 yards with 29 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He's also shown the ability to hurt defenses with his legs as he's rushed for 256 yards and four scores. Because of his accuracy, ability to manage a game and the fact he can keep plays alive with his legs, Howard has garnered offers from New Mexico State and Northern Colorado and, according to Chiaverini, he has seen quite a bit of interest from Colorado, California and San Diego State.

OT Dominique Robertson - The talented offensive tackle saw a spike in recruiting in the spring, but once summer hit, things slowed down a bit. Now, with the season he's had, schools have been clamoring to get into the mix with him and thus far he has offers from Fresno State, Washington State, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Arizona State and Arizona and he's got plenty more that could offer in the coming weeks as well.

WR Devon Blackmon - The speedster, who is a bounceback from Oregon, has put up good numbers -- 28 receptions for 509 yards and six touchdowns -- and with his legit sub-4.4 speed and athleticism he's got several four year programs that have extended offers his way including Arizona, California, Colorado, Fresno State, Illinois, Kansas State and Washington and he's got plenty more that are close to offering as well.

WR Kenny Torrance - Torrance was the leading receiver for the Tigers hauling in 40 receptions for 812 yards and eight scores. He has brought in offers from Kansas State, Fresno State and Washington State.

WR Sam Boyd - The big, physically imposing wideout, who bounced back from San Jose State, has full rides from Arizona State, California and Fresno State. All of those offers came in before the start of the season and now that he's posted 26 receptions for 442 yards and four touchdowns, expect more schools to jump into the fray. He's got the speed and agility to be a big wide receiver and the size to play some tight end or h-back, depending on the offense he plays in.

WR Cole Juarez - The huge defensive tackle has seen an increase in recruiting attention over the past month after he posted 16 tackles, two sacks and five tackles-for-loss while playing in the Riverside defensive line rotation. Since he's only a freshman, many schools didn't know he was ready to go. New Mexico is currently his only offer, but more are expected as several schools, including ones from BCS conferences have started giving him a long look.
