Things are picking up for Guy

After posting two solid seasons at College of the Canyons, DT Antonio Guy (6-3, 295) is a JUCO prospect seeing interest increase over the past few weeks. JCFootball.com caught up with him recently and he updated us on where things stand in the recruiting process and what his future plans look like...

"Things have been going well for me," Guy told JCFootball.com. "I've got offers from Oregon State and California and I'm visiting Cal on January 17th.

"I've also been talking to some other schools and should know more about offers and visits with them later on."

As a freshman back in 2012, Guy used his quickness and athleticism to post 39 tackles, 12.5 tackles-for-loss and two sacks and this past season he racked up 44 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 9.5 tackles-for-loss, four forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.

"I'd definitely say I'm a run-stopper. That's definitely what I do best," Guy told JCFootball.com back in the spring. "I'm good at getting through gaps quickly and making plays in the backfield, so, like I said, I think that's what I do best."

While he isn't lacking in rushing the quarterback, Guy said he's working very hard to get much more proficient in that area.

"I'm not bad at it, but I am definitely working on some pass-rushing moves," Guy noted. "I'm working on getting more explosive and I want to get quicker and faster and stronger, so I've been doing workouts that will get me where I want to be."

Guy is on pace to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two starting in the fall of 2014.
