Arbuckle Makes His Choice

Over the past two years, one of the most prolific JUCO passers has been L.A. Pierce's Nick Arbuckle (6-2, 220). He helped lead his team to an overall record of 18-4 with two bowl wins and threw for over 6,500 yards with 66 touchdowns and 29 picks. All of that productivity and leadership garnered him some attention from four-year schools and on Monday he made his choice...

"I officially committed to Georgia State," Arbuckle said in a message to JCFootball.com.

The talented signal-caller chose the Panthers over offers from Virginia Tech, UNLV, UMass, Utah State and New Mexico State among others.

As a freshman, Arubuckle completed over 65% of his passes for 3,774 yards with 40 touchdowns and 16 picks and this past season he completed over 62% of his passes for 26 touchdowns and 13 picks.

Arbuckle typically likes to sit in the pocket and make plays by spreading the ball around to his receivers, but he's nimble enough to get out and keep plays alive with his legs when necessary and that usually results in big plays as he keeps his eyes down the field to find open receivers.

He did have a chance to sign with Bowling Green or California after his freshman season, but decided to return, not only to get more offers, but also to continue on with what his team had built as well as working on his overall game and leadership skills.

"I've been working on everything, but I've really been focused on getting better chemistry with my receives and just everyone on the team," Arbuckle told JCFootball.com during the summer. "We had great chemistry last year, but there's still a lot we could work on and we lost some guys, so we just need to click like we did last year.

"I've also been working on my leadership skills and also just changing my body, getting stronger and faster and just being more polished overall."

Arbuckle will sign with Georgia State next week and he will have three years to play two once he arrives on Atlanta in January.
