Fletcher talks recruiting

After two productive season at Hartnell, DE Kapil Fletcher (6-4, 255) is ready to move on and he's got several options that he's mulling over. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented prospect recently and he updated us on where things stand including which four-year schools he's looking at visiting after the holidays...

"I have six offers right now," Fletcher told JCFootball.com. "I have offers from West Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Colorado, New Mexico State, Georgia State and Western Kentucky.

"I've already visited Western Kentuck, back on December 6th, and I'm pretty sure that I'm going to end up visiting Georgia State on January 24th.

"I'm still looking at setting up my other visits and I plan on taking them all, so I'll need to work out my schedule and call all of the schools and talk to them about when I can visit."

As a two-year starter at Hartnell, Fletcher has been a real nuisance for opposing offenses as he's posted nearly 80 tackles, 10.5 sacks and 18.5 tackles-for-loss the past two years combined.

"I can pass-rush all day long and that's what I love to do, but when you play ball, you have to read things and as the season went along I started to figure things out and I really improved a lot," Fletcher told JCFootball.com back in the summer. "I learned how to read blocks and figure out when it was a run or when it was a pass, so that helped me out a lot and that allowed me to help my team a lot."

Fletcher has only played three years of football, so his upside is huge and that is why a lot of schools are trying to get him into the fold.

He's taken care of his academics since he arrived at Hartnell and he will graduate in May with three years to play two starting next fall.
