Allen talks about his future plans

Grossmont OT A.J. Allen (6-5, 315) spoke with JCFootball.com recently and updated us on where he stands in the recruiting process and what trips he will take after the holidays...

"I've taken three visits so far and I've scheduled my last two. I was hoping to make my decision before the holidays, but that's not going to happen, so I'm taking two visits after the start of the year and then I will make my decision," Allen told JCFootball.com.

The talented lineman took visits to Kansas State, Kansas and, most recently, to South Florida and he said he enjoyed his time at each school.

"I had a great time at all three of those schools," Allen noted. "The visits to Kansas and Kansas State were during the season, so I got to see them play and I also saw what the atmosphere there on gameday is like.

"I visited South Florida last weekend and I had a great time there. They really showed me a great time. I loved the facilities and just meeting the coaches and talking to them more. I also got to bond with the players and staff."

Allen plans to visit Purdue (January 17th - 19th) and Cincinnati (January 24th - 26th).

"I don't really have a leader right now," Allen said. "I like all of the schools that I've visited and they all have their pluses and minuses. I want to take these last couple of visits and then I'll decide late next month."

Allen is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in May and he will have three years to play two starting in the fall of 2014.
