Lauderdale gets closer to making a decision

He's one of the top JUCO players still taking visits, but Saddleback WR Eric Lauderdale (6-2, 197) told JCFootball.com recently that he's close to making his decision and with two visits scheduled next month he hopes to bring the recruiting process to a close...

"I've narrowed things down a lot and I'm sorta down to my final three or four, maybe five," Lauderdale told JCFootball.com. "I'm visiting Arizona State next month on the 17th and then Oregon the weekend after that (January 24th). There is still a small chance I might take a visit to Tennessee the final weekend (January 31st), but right now, I'm not real sure I will even take that one."

In addition to those three schools, Lauderdale said he's also considering the other two schools he's visited -- Florida and Nebraska.

"Every school that has offered me has a lot to offer," Lauderdale said. "I like stuff about each school, but I'd say ASU and Oregon are where I'm leaning as my favorites right now with possibly Florida in there. I like Nebraska too though and I committed to Tennessee early on, so they are a consideration too."

As a freshman in 2012, Lauderdale hauled in 60 receptions for 916 yards and seven touchdowns and he followed that up this past season by hauling in a team-high 54 receptions for 703 yards and nine touchdowns while missing five games with a groin injury.

Lauderdale said after his visit to Oregon, he will sit down and weigh his options and hopes to have a decision soon after returning home.

He is on pace to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two starting in the fall of 2014.
