Visits On Tap For Tanuvasa

One of the top interior pass-rushers in the California JUCO ranks this past season was Santa Ana's Billy Tanuvasa (6-2, 285). He led his team in sacks and he told JCFootball.com recently that he's set up two official visits to schools that have been showing him a lot of interest...

"I'm visiting UNLV on the 17th and New Mexico State on the 24th," Tanuvasa said. "New Mexico State has verbally offered me, but said they wanted to see me in person and meet with me before they give me the official offer.

"UNLV basically said to me that if I take a trip up there, they were most likely going to offer."

With his size and quickness, Tanuvasa proved to be a handful for Santa Ana opponents last year, evidenced by his 8.5 sacks and 14.5 tackles-for-loss as well as his 52 tackles which tied for second no the team.

"I have good quickness and strength," Tanuvasa noted during the summer. "I can usually get a good jump off the ball and if I do, I have a great shot at getting into the backfield to make a play for my team."

He's set to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two starting this coming fall.
