All-American JUCO CB Talks Recruiting

One of the top JUCO corners in the nation this past season was Ellsworth's Corry O'Meally (6-0, 170). He put up solid numbers as a sophomore this past season and earned Second Team NJCAA All-American honors for his efforts. Now he's turned is focus toward recruiting and he updated JCFootball.com on where things stand including which school he will visit later this month...

"Things have been going great for me now that my season is over," O'Meally told JCFootball.com. "I've got four offers -- Iowa State, Idaho, Appalachian State and Utah State -- and I am going to take my official visit to Iowa State on the 24th (of January).

"I want to take my visits before I decide and Idaho and Appalachian State have both been talking about me visiting and Utah State is pushing me to take a trip there, so I have some planning to do before signing day (February 5th)."

As a sophomore for Ellsworth this past season, O'Meally locked down one side of the field, posting 44 tackles, three interceptions and a team-leading nine pass breakups.

"I'm strong in press coverage and I love to take on guys straight up and compete for the ball," O'Meally said. "I can play any coverage and my off-coverage is pretty good too, but all of us corners love playing man-to-man and I'm no different."

O'Meally enjoyed a solid prep career at North Miami (Fl.) Beach and had offers, but his grades weren't where they needed to be, so he opted to go the JUCO route in the hopes of getting his academics squared away while also playing some football.

"My coaches in high school knew some coaches up here at Ellsworth and that's sorta how I ended up here," O'Meally said. "I learned some lessons on what the prioritize and going to Ellsworth really helped me concentrate on football and school, so it's definitely been a good situation for me."

O'Meally is on pace to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two starting this fall.

We will continue to keep track of his progress and we will update news on him as it happens.
