More Offers For Dorvilus

Even though Independence LB Richard Dorvilus (6-2, 225) has committed to play for Florida Atlantic, that hasn't stopped schools from continuing to offer him. The talented linebacker recently received three new offers and told JCFootball.com that, while he's flattered and happy that schools want him, he's dead set on winding up in the Sunshine State...

"I just got new offers from Baylor, Texas Tech and UMass today," Dorvilus told JCFootball.com.

Those new offers join the ones he already had from Akron, Arizona State, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Kansas State, Middle Tennessee, Rutgers, South Alabama, Temple, Utah State, Western Kentucky and Western Michigan as well as the one he has from Florida Atlantic.

It was expected that Dorvilus, who finished the season with a team-leading 60 tackles to go along with two sacks and a forced fumble, would sign with FAU on December 18th, but he still needed two more classes to qualify, so he will sign with them on February 5th instead.

So, did the new offers change his mind?

"I'm sticking with FAU," Dorvilus said. "My mom had (some medical issues) and I want to stay close to her. Only in-state offers will keep me interested."

Dorvilus will have three years to play two starting this fall once he signs early next month.
