JCFootball.com Recruiting Blog - 2/4

With less than 24 hours until prospects can start to send in their Letters-of-Intent to the school of their choice, there are still several JUCO players mulling offers and hoping to make a decision soon. Here's a look at where things stand with several players and what to look for tomorrow...

Pearl River DL Dalvon Stuckey - Stuckey recently visited Arizona State and announced on his Facebook page late yesterday that he is down to Louisville, Miami, West Virginia, Arizona State and Louisiana-Lafayette and will make his decision morning. The thinking here is that the Sun Devils might wind up having the lead because he is a perfect fit inside now that Will Sutton has graduated. We will know soon enough, but Sun Devil fans might have a nice surprise coming tomorrow.

East Mississippi WR J.T. Tolbert - Tolbert informed JCFootball.com that he has received another offer, this one coming from Tennessee State. He also noted that he will likely be signing tomorrow and will choose from between TSU and Georgia State.

L.A. Pierce S Bobby Baker - Pierce assistant coach Mike Hill informed JCFootball.com that Baker has committed to UAB after taking a visit there this past weekend. Last season, Baker posted 39 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, one interception and six pass breakups.

Georgia Military TE Ty Smith - It was rumored for a while that Smith, one of the top JUCO tight ends left on the market, was headed to Alabama, but he took a visit to Louisville this past weekend and some thought the Cardinals had a chance to sway him. However, he stuck to his guns and committed to Alabama and will sign with them tomorrow.

Highland DT Marcus Smith - Smith was expected to sign with Texas Tech in December during the mid-year Signing Period, however, things got a bit complicated and he was unable to sign during that four-week span. With that being the case, new schools started to flood him with interest and offers, but Smith recently told RaiderPower.com that he still plans to sign with the Red Raiders tomorrow.

Hutchinson OL Quincy McKinney - Things were a bit quiet on the recruiting front for McKinney early on, but things picked up last month when schools like East Carolina and North Carolina State came in with offers, however, when new Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino extended a full ride, McKinney chose to take a visit and committed to the Cardinals earlier today.

East Los Angeles LB Darzil Washington - There were rumors several Pac 12 schools were starting to pick up interest in Washington over the past few weeks, but on his trip to Louisiana last weekend, the talented and versatile linebacker prospect decided to join the Ragin' Cajuns.

Contra Costa DE Rondell McNair - McNair chose Boise State on his trip there over the weekend. The talented defensive end chose the Broncos over offers from Arizona State, Troy, Western Kentucky, Wyoming, San Jose State and New Mexico. He posted 32 tackles, six sacks and eight tackles-for-loss this past season and was named to the All-Conference Team.
