Two Early Offers For Blinn WR

One of the more heralded wideouts in the JUCO ranks this coming season should wind up being Blinn's Darrion Landry (6-2, 190). The talent receiver already has two early offers and he could see several more come in during the spring...

"Right now, I have offers from Kentucky and Illinois," Landry told "I've had the Kentucky one for a little while and Illinois just offered me today when I talked to them.

"As far as schools that have been calling and talking to me, Boise State, West Virginia and Arizona State are the other ones. They seem really interested in me and what I can do, but they haven't offered yet."

What Landry can do on the football field is get open and make plays down the field, both with his elusiveness and his speed.

As a freshman this past fall, while playing in an offense that was run-heavy most of the year, Landry still managed to haul in 45 receptions for 766 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Buccaneers in all three categories.

"I have 4.4 speed, so I can make plays down the field," Landry said. "I am more of an outside guy and they like to throw the deep ball up to me and I can go up and get it.

"I also like taking short passes, like hitches and stop routes and stuff like that, and then I can use my running ability to make plays that way as well."

Landry has been hard at work this offseason, working on getting stronger as well as perfecting his craft and, additionally, he's also gotten it done in the classroom.

He is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2014 football season.
