McConner Gets FBS Offer

Even though he has yet to don the red and white for L.A. Pierce, CB Javarus McConner (6-1, 180), who transferred from a D-2 program, has already grabbed his first offer and more could be on the way...

"I got an offer from Cincinnati about a month ago," McConner told recently. "They said they like what I can do and they have known me for a while, since I was at Hargrave (Military Academy).

"Besides them, I have been talking a lot with Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State and Fresno State, but they haven't offered yet. I also visited USC and UCLA last week too."

As a prep at New Bern (NC) High School, McConner decided to sign with Hargrave Military Academy shortly after graduating in 2011. He enrolled there and then signed with Livingstone College, a D-2 school.

"I thought it was the best place for me, but eventually, the coaches that recruited me there left and I just didn't feel right being there anymore," McConner noted. "I started to look around at JC programs and Pierce just stuck out because of their program here and I liked the coaches a lot."

McConner is on pace to finish up his coursework this December and he will have three years to play two following the 2014 football season.
