He's had to wait quite a while, but things are heading up for Butte TE Bo Brummel (6-3, 235). The talented tight end has seen recruiting pick up over the past month or so and things could be coming to a head early next month after he takes an official visit to a school that has extended an offer his way...
"Things have picked up," Brummel told JCFootball.com. "I actually took an official visit to Cincinnati back in March and it was a good time, but they didn't offer and then a couple of weeks later, they told me they had decided to take a defensive lineman instead of offering me, so things sorta stopped for me at that point.
"But over the past few weeks I have gotten offers from Sac State, Weber State, West Texas A&M and, just recently, I got an offer from Stephen F. Austin. I'm taking a visit there the first week of June."
His visit to check out SFA comes shortly after he returned from an unofficial visit to Sacramento State.
"I just took an unofficial up to Sac State (Friday, May 16th) and it was a really good time up there," Brummel said. "I'm still considering things and I have my visit to SFA, so after that, I'll be able to sorta map things out and see where things stand.
"I'm not closed off to anyone though. If a school wants to come after me and offer, I will consider them and I definitely want to play at the highest level that I can, so I am still open to everything that comes in."
As a freshman in 2012, Brummel posted eight receptions for 120 yards and two scores and he followed that up by posting 22 receptions for 302 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore this past season.
"I split time with Richard Murphy at tight end," Brummel noted. "He signed with UNC Charlotte. He's a really good player and talented. He took some of the pressure off of me and we both sorta complimented each other."
Brummel is on pace to finish up his AA degree in May and he will have three years to play two starting this fall.
