Williams Signs With Arkansas

After a lengthy look at his transcripts, the Arkansas Razorbacks decided to offer Dodge City LB Josh Williams (6-2, 240) and he signed with them shortly thereafter...

"I signed with Arkansas," Williams told JCFootball.com.

As a freshman this past fall, Williams played at just over 210 pounds, but still managed to finish with a team-leading 85 tackles to go along with a sack, four tackles-for-loss and two fumble recoveries and he received honorable mention All-KJCCC honors.

Most schools thought he needed to play one more season at the JUCO level, however, it was discovered that he was a full qualifier after he graduated from high school and thus, recruiting definitely picked up for the talented prospect.

"They were really happy when they figured out my classes could transfer over and that all of my academic stuff checked out," Williams noted. "Playing for them is a great opportunity for me. The depth chart really sets up well for me to have a chance to come in and compete for playing time right away and that was really important to me.

"I also really liked the staff there and I have a buddy from high school who will be coming up there with me to play (Randy Ramsey) so that was another factor as well."

Williams will enroll at Arkansas in June and he will have four years to play three starting this fall.
