Interest Continues To Pick Up For Carson

Butler RB Chris Carson (6-1, 215) is one of the top returning JUCO tailbacks in the country and he already has four offers to his name and more could be on the way in the very near future...

"Right now, I have offers from Cincinnati, Utah State, Colorado State and Iowa State and I've been talking to Arkansas, Illinois, Boise State, Arizona State, Washington, Wisconsin and Indiana," Carson told JCFootball.com.

As a freshman last season, Carson totaled 611 yards and a team-leading eight scores on the ground. While Carson is a tough runner who gains a majority of his yardage in-between the tackles, he did fumble the ball six times, losing four, and he said that has been a major focus for him since the season ended last December.

"Ball security has been big for me this offseason," Carson noted. "I don't go down easily and my instinct is to fight for those extra yards, but when guys come in and grab at the ball, that's where I ran into trouble, so the coaches worked with me a lot, three-points of contact, all of that stuff and it's something I am definitely focused on for this season."

As a prep, Carson enjoyed a solid career at Parkview High School near Atlanta, Georgia, but he was unable to qualify so he decided to head to Butler to continue is football career.

"They have a great program here for one and I had a friend who I played against in high school that was coming up here so I decided to join him," Carson said.

He is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2014 football season.
