"My offers right now are from BYU, Utah, Utah State, Mississippi Valley State and UAB," Daniels told JCFootball.com. "I got the offer from Mississippi Valley back in February and the offer from UAB came in back in March. The other schools that offered me came in in May when the coaches dropped by our school."
In addition to his offers, Daniels said he's been talking with coaches from Arizona, USC and Colorado as well as several other programs as well.
"I'm open to anyone that wants to offer me and I feel like schools like me, but they just need to evaluate me more," Daniels noted.
As a rotation player last fall, Daniels posted 13 tackles, one interception and three pass breakups, using his long frame and great ball skills to lock down opposing receivers.
"I can play zone or man-to-man, but I prefer man-to-man just because that's what I feel like I do best and I'm probably more comfortable with it," Daniels said. "I just love to compete and it's just you and him. It's just man-versus-man and I love to play that way."
This offseason, Daniels has been working on the finer points of playing corner and he hopes that his work will pay off with a great sophomore campaign.
"I've been working a lot on my footwork and my hand placement and how I do the little things," Daniels said. "You have your athletic abilities and they can take you to a certain point, but it's those finer details that can make you great and that's really what I am focusing on."
Daniels enjoyed a solid prep career at Lynwood (Ca.) High School, but he was unable to qualify for a scholarship to a four-year program, so he decided to head to Cerritos to continue his football career.
"There was at least one school that was closer to my home, but I just liked the Cerritos coaches and felt like they could get me ready for the next level," Daniels said. "Cerritos is a great program and they always play against the top talent and that's what I wanted."
Daniels has loaded up on his academic work this summer and is currently on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December.
He will have three years to play two following the 2014 football season.
