Three Offers And Counting For Baxter

Trinity Valley WR Jarvis Baxter (6-0, 175) can make plays from almost anywhere on the field and because of his playmaking abilities, he's already got three offers and a couple of other schools eyeing his talents...

"I have offers from North Texas, New Mexico and I recently got an offer from New Mexico State," Baxter told JCFootball.com recently. "I've been talking a lot with Iowa State and TCU has been talking to me too."

Baxter finished his freshman season with TVC by posting 49 receptions for 767 yards and eight touchdowns, playing the 'X' receiver spot in the Cardinals' system.

"They used me mostly outside, but if teams were rolling coverage to my side, they'd move me around, sending me in motion, put me in the slot, stuff like that," Baxter said. "I feel comfortable at receiver, so you can ask me to do anything and I'll get it done.

"I have good hands and I really try to run good routes. I can get deep or get open on the short and intermediate stuff.

"I feel real comfortable with the ball in my hands and that's probably what I do best. Get me the ball and I can do a lot with it."

As far as what he's looking for from the school in which he ultimately decides to attend, Baxter said there are a couple of things that come to mind.

"Definitely the atmosphere around the area and the program and also my comfort level with the coaching staff," Baxter said. "I'm hoping to take at least one official visit this summer and then the rest during or after my season and then I'll make my decision."

Baxter enjoyed a very nice prep career at Lakeview Centennial (Garland, Tx.) before signing with Trinity Valley.

He is on pace to finish up his associate's degree in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2014 football season.
