Top of the Board

We continue our look at wide-outs who have offers. This target is at the top of the board and could be visiting very soon.

Texas State was the first to offer Xavier Castille and BobcatIllustrated broke the news back in mid April. Since then, he's picked up 9 other offers. Programs such as Connecticut, UTEP, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State and others are hot on his trail.

The 5'11" 200lb WR from Rockwall High School is staying busy these days with just over a month until he officially starts his senior year. Right now he's lifting and training in an eight week program, hitting it hard every day. Earlier this summer he also turned in his best 40 time, a 4.43.

With a solid frame and good speed, it's no surprise that some big time programs are lurking around and waiting in the wings with what could be a big time offer. Texas Tech, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State are all showing moderate interest. The Ducks and Cowboys like him in the secondary as a safety.

Castille has no preference, offense or defense. He wants to continue playing ball at the highest level possible and will be using his five official visits to help him decide on where he's going.

So don't expect a decision before his senior year, Xavier wants to see how his recruiting unfolds. One program that is doing everything they can is Texas State, and Castille just might be visiting them in the very near future.

"They've (Texas State) had the most contact with me. Texas State is a really nice school and it's close to home. I might visit with Rico Henderson or my teammate Jaylen Veasley this Friday, I'm not sure we're trying to find out the time. I just might drive down there myself," said Castille.

Defensive Tackles Coach Kyle Tatum is recruiting Castille and has formed a good bond with him. The whole Bobcat staff has. As he told BI back in April, the Bobcats offering first meant a lot to him.

As for his official visits, it all depends who offers and who doesn't. Some of the high major programs have said they want to see Xavier in a couple of games and will then know if he gets an offer or not. That will map out who gets an official and who doesn't. He plans on using three in state and two out of state visits. Texas State could still very well get an official. For the time being, the Coaches will wait and see if Castille will be on campus sooner than later.
