Nine Offers And Counting For Maulet

Co-Lin CB Arthur Maulet (5-11, 195) is a player garnering a lot of attention from four-year schools and he just received his ninth offer and more could be on the way in the very near future...

"I just got an offer from Troy and I have other offers from Nichols State, Louisiana-Lafayette, South Alabama, Memphis, Southern Mississippi, Middle Tennessee State, Louisiana Tech and UTSA," Maulet told JCFootball.com. "I've also been talking a lot with Iowa State, Alabama, Kentucky and Minnesota, but none of them have offered yet."

As a freshman in 2013, Maulet played both strong safety and corner, depending on the need of his team. He finished with 37 tackles, one fumble recovery, one interception (which he took back 62 yards for a touchdown) and 14 pass breakups.

"I'm a physical guy. That's probably my biggest asset. I love being physical," Maulet admitted. "I'm at my best in press, man coverage. I love competing against the best wideouts and shutting them down."

Even though he's got plenty of offers, Maulet isn't resting on his laurels.

"I've been working a lot on my off-coverage and cover three stuff," Maulet said. "I just want my footwork to be good so I can break on passes better and read the route combinations well too."

Maulet prepped at Bonnabel (Harvey, La.) High School and had some looks from some four-year schools, but he was unable to qualify, so he decided to head to Co-Lin to play.

"It was pretty close to home and they are a really good program, so I felt like it was the right place to be to get my academics right and to play ball at the highest level," Maulet noted.

The talented corner is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2014 football season.
