A look at some of the top JUCO quarterback performances from this past weekend including College of the Sequoias QB Raul Alvarez who put up huge numbers in a losing effort against Feather River...

Monterey Peninsula QB Keon Marsh - Even in a losing effort, Marsh still managed to have a big afternoon throwing the ball for the Lobos, completing 33 of his 50 pass attempts for 334 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in a 41-37 loss to Los Medanos. Marsh also rushed for 36 yards on six carries.

College of the Sequoias QB Raul Alvarez - Alvarez put up huge numbers – 36 of 60 for 544 yards with four touchdowns and four picks – in COS’s 45-41 loss to Feather River on Saturday. Alvarez also rushed for 29 yards and a score. In two games, the talented sophomore gun-slinger has completed 62.6% of his pass attempts for 875 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions.

Ventura QB Jalen Brady - The freshman made some big plays, finishing the day 27 of 41 for 315 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, as Ventura downed #11 El Camino by a score of 33-30.

El Camino QB Joey Notch - Notch, a sophomore, completed 27 of his 40 attempts for 313 yards and two touchdowns in the Warriors’ 33-30 loss to Ventura.

Santa Rosa QB Christian McAlvain - The Bear Cubs got a huge 24-17 win over Butte and the sophomore signal-caller was a big reason why. He completed less than 50% of his passes going 20 of 42, but he did throw for 389 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.

Saddleback QB Ricky Bautista - Bautista put up huge numbers in Saddleback’s 37-34 overtime loss to Riverside. The sophomore quarterback completed 41 of 68 for 422 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions.

Reedley QB Sean Stell - Stell finished 29 of 44 for 350 yards with three touchdowns and an interception, but the Tigers still dropped their game with San Jose by a score of 41-36.

Shasta QB Dylan Desmarais - Desmarais finished the day 22 of 32 with five touchdowns and one interception in Shasta’s 63-20 win over Cabrillo.

Chaffey QB Levi Plante - The freshman had a big day in Chaffey’s 34-20 win over Moorpark, throwing for 429 yards with four touchdowns and an interception while hitting on 32 of his 48 pass attempts. He also added 46 yards on the ground.

Golden West QB Chris d'Entremont - The sophomore went 22 of 42 for 305 yards and four touchdowns in the Rustlers’ 44-35 loss to Bakersfield.

Bakersfield QB Tarek Yaeggie - In the Gades’ big win over Golden West, Yaeggie went 17 of 23 for 300 yards and three scores.

Long Beach QB Kenny Potter - Potter, likely the top dual-threat quarterback in the country, finished with 219 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions on 15 of 28 passing while racking up 143 more yards on nine carries in Long Beach’s 42-13 win over Palomar.

West Los Angeles QB Dallas Lopez - Lopez went 28 of 53 for 354 yards with two touchdowns and three picks. He also had 28 yards rushing and another touchdown in West Los Angeles’ 47-24 loss to San Bernardino Valley.

Sacramento QB Jason Samuels - The Jags used a big day by Samuels – 27 of 44 for 317 yards, two touchdowns and an interception – to get a 20-17 win over Foothill.

Coffeyville QB Colby Brown - Brown, a freshman, finished with 327 yards and four touchdowns while completing 20 of his 34 passes and he also chipped in with 39 yards on the ground in the Red Ravens’ 56-21 win over Fort Scott last weekend.

Garden City QB Denarious Graham - The freshman signal-caller was a threat on the ground and through the air, going 15 of 27 for 294 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions while also rushing for 89 yards and another score while leading the Broncbusters to a 36-30 win over Ellsworth.

Scottsdale QB Michael Sanders - Sanders went 26 of 43 for 323 yards with five touchdowns and an interception while leading the Chokes to a 34-28 win over Snow.

Blinn QB Jake Hubenak - Hubenak went 28 of 47 for 448 yards with five touchdowns and a pick in the Bucs’ 42-3 win over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. The Oklahoma State bounceback has put up monster numbers since the start of the season for Blinn, completing 63.5% of his passes for 1,325 yards with 16 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Independence QB Evan Lassiter - Lassiter did everything he could to keep Indy in the game, going 37 of 58 for 422 yards with three touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to Dodge City by a score of 42-32.

East Mississippi QB Chad Kelly - The Clemson bounceback pretty much had his way in EMCC’s 83-7 win over Coahoma, going 20 of 28 for 323 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 56 yards and another score.

Jones QB Kenny Coleman - Coleman looked great in Jones’ thrilling 31-29 win over Southwest Mississippi, going 28 of 45 for 325 yards with an interception.
