JUCO Wideout On The Cusp Of Some Offers

San Bernardino Valley WR Darian Barrientos-Jackson (6-1, 210) is a talented wideout with several schools schools eying his talents...

"Things have been going well," Barrientos-Jackson told JCFootball.com. "We've had a couple of tough games, but we'll bounce back. We'll keep fighting and we'll be okay."

As a freshman in 2013, Barrientos-Jackson finished second on the team with 53 receptions and led the team with 897 receiving yards and eight touchdowns through the air.

So far this season, he's hauled in 11 receptions for 194 yards and a score in four games.

"One of the big things I worked on during the summer and the offseason was getting faster and also my quickness," he noted. "I'd say my strength is being a possession receiver. I can still get deep, but I do a good job of using my body to shield DBs and then I have good hands and I run good routes too."

On the recruiting front, things have begun to pick up for the talented wideout as he's close to hauling in two offers and more schools are evaluating him.

"I know that Eastern Michigan is pretty close to offering me and Arkansas State is also really close too," Barrientos-Jackson said.

In addition to those two programs, schools like Boise State, California, Colorado State, Kansas State, UAB and UTEP have also been in contact.

Barrientos-Jackson is on pace to finish up his academic work in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2014 football season.
