Here's a look at some of the top JUCO running back performances from this past weekend including a huge effort from Hartnell's Sherrod Hawkes...

Hartnell RB Sherrod Hawkes - Hawkes had a huge game in the Panthers’ 51-13 win over Cabrillo as the freshman rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries.

West Hills RB Tyron Jones - Jones rushed for 173 yards on 18 carries in West Hills’ 40-10 win over Monterey Peninsula.

College of San Mateo RB D.J. Peluso - Peluso rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown in CSM’s 52-7 win over San Joaquin Delta last weekend.

Santa Barbara RB Cedric Cooper - Cooper rushed for 121 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries in the Vaqueros’ 56-38 win over West Los Angeles.

Santa Barbara RB Cheroke Cunningham - The freshman took a back seat to Cooper, but still managed to rush for 110 yards and two scores on 14 touches in the Vaqueros’ 56-38 win over West Los Angeles.

Sierra RB Zack Graves - The sophomore rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries in the Wolverines’ big 42-14 win over Foothill.

San Bernardino Valley RB Kendrick Dorn - Dorn had a huge game as he carried the ball 31 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as SBVC dropped their game with Mt. San Jacinto by a score of 30-24. So far this season, the talented sophomore tailback has rushed for 537 yards and six touchdowns.

Bakersfield RB Triton Douglas - Douglas carried the ball 16 times for 107 yards and a touchdown, but the Gades lost their game with Allan Hancock by a score of 20-17.

Christian Batiste Santa Rosa RB Desmond Nisby - The Bear Cubs used Nisby’s 28 carry, 141-yard effort to down Laney 28-15.

Los Medanos RB Craijon Menefee - The freshman ball-carrier had 18 carries for 106 yards and two scores in the Mustangs’ 39-0 win over San Jose.

Los Medanos RB Shane Pooler - The second part of the Mustangs’ two-headed backfield finished with 18 carries for 103 yards and two scores in Los Medanos’ 39-0 win over San Jose.

Chabot RB Christian Batiste - The sophomore runner carried the ball 12 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns in the Gladiators’ 54-27 win over Feather River.

Shasta RB Iquan Corsey - Shasta downed Redwoods 66-28 and Corsey was a big reason why as he finished with just eight carries, but he managed to rush for 138 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

Butte RB Joshua Mercer - The freshman ran the ball 31 times for 157 yards and a score in a 38-27 win over Fresno City College. In four games this season, Mercer has rushed for 342 yard and a score.

Modesto RB Anthony Cota - Cota carried the ball 26 times for 147 yards and three touchdowns, but Modesto still dropped to 1-3 on the season with a 34-27 loss to Sacramento. In four games, the sophomore has rushed for close to 600 yards and eight touchdowns.

American River RB Deon Ransom - Ransom rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Beavers’ impressive 13-0 win over City College of San Francisco last weekend.

L.A. Southwest RB De-Andre Story - The freshman had 17 carries for 133 yards in L.A. Southwest’s 13-10 win over L.A. Valley.

Northeast Oklahoma A&M RB Cameron Booty- The freshman tailback rolled up 170 yards on 16 carries in the Golden Norsemen’s 16-14 win over Arkansas Baptist. So far this season, in five games, Booty has totaled 583 yards and three touchdowns.

Hutchinson RB Alvin Kamara - Kamara toted the rock 31 times for 157 yards and three scores in the Blue Dragons’ 43-26 win over Dodge City. While helping to lead his team to a 5-0 record, Kamara has racked up 690 yards and 10 scores on 101 carries while posting 11 receptions for 67 yard and another touchdown as well.

Hutchinson RB Bradan Smith - The redshirt freshman only got 10 carries, but he made the most of his opportunities, rushing for 123 yards and a touchdown in Hutch’s 43-26 win over Dodge City.

Holmes RB Mitchell Cunningham - Cunningham rushed for 150 yards on 12 carries in Holmes’ 27-8 win over Mississippi Delta last Saturday.

Navarro RB Keaun Kinner - Kinner carried the ball 28 times for 146 yards and one touchdown, but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs dropped their game with Kilgore by a score of 37-31. So far this season, the talented sophomore has run for 772 yards and nine scores while also hauling in nine receptions for 61 yards and another score as a receiver out of the backfield.

Mississippi Gulf Coast ATH Tevaris McCormick - McCormick is sort of a “do-it-all” type for the Bulldogs and last week the sophomore playmaker carried the ball eight times for 142 yards and a touchdown while also hauling in four receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown in MGCCC’s 42-3 win over Jones County.

Kilgore RB Corey Davis - The Rangers downed Navarro by a score of 37-31 and Davis’ contributions were huge in the victory as he managed to rush for 137 yards and one touchdown on 11 touches.

Tyler Chaston Bennett - In the Apaches’ 61-38 win, the sophomore tailback rushed for 111 yards and two scores on 20 carries. In five games so far this season, Bennett has totaled 702 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Mesa Carlton Williams - Williams carried the ball 15 times for 118 yard and a touchdown and he also hauled in four receptions for 30 yards in the T-Birds’ 53-40 win over New Mexico Military. The sophomore has been a multi-purpose athlete for his team thus far, racking up 491 yards and three touchdowns while also hauling in 17 receptions for 86 yards helping Mesa to a 3-3 record thus far.
