Top Performers - Linebacker

Last weekend saw several JUCO lineabacker standout performances including the effort put in by Mt. San Antonio's who helped lead the way to a big win for the Mounties...

Mt. San Antonio LB Sitiveni Tamaivena - The sophomore racked up 10 tackles (all solo), two sacks and five tackles-for-loss as the Mounties downed Chaffey by a score of 47-14.

Pasadena LB Jalyn Williams - Williams had 10 tackles (seven solo), two sacks, 2.5 tackles-for-loss and one fumble recovery in Pasadena’s 20-12 win over College of the Canyons.

Fresno LB Mitchell Francis - Mitchell totaled 14 tackles (11 solo) and a tackle-for-loss in Fresno’s 38-27 loss to Butte.

American River LB Austin Paulhus - The sophomore middle linebacker racked up 11 tackles (five solo) as the Beavers got a 13-0 win over City College of San Francisco.

Fullerton LB Jarrot Thomas - Thomas led the Hornets with 10 tackles (seven solo) as Fullerton got to 3-1 on the season with a 46-31 win over Orange Coast.

Ventura LB Matt Singleton - Singleton led Ventura with 8 tackles and also chipped in with a tackle-for-loss as the Pirates managed to eek out a 35-31 win over Cerritos.

Reedley Rico Mathis - Mathis led the way for the Tigers with 12 tackles (seven solo), a tackle-for-loss, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery in Reedley’s 44-33 win over Gavilan.

Yuba LB Alan Barnett - Barnett had a huge game in Yuba’s 55-40 win over Mendocino as the talented middle linebacker racked up eight tackles (seven solo), three sacks and five tackles-for-loss.

West Los Angeles Darrien Williams - Williams had 16 tackles (seven solo) and two fumble recoveries, but the Wildcats still dropped their game with Santa Barbara by a score of 56-38.

Foothill LB GJullian Flemister-King - The standout middle linebacker had a huge game, posting 12 tackles and a tackle-for-loss in Foothill’s 42-14 loss to Sierra. So far this season, the sophomore has racked up 42 tackles and two tackles-for-loss.

Santa Monica LB Daveed Carter - The sophomore had six tackles, one sack, one tackle-for-loss and a fumble recovery in Santa Monica’s 66-7 win over Antelope Valley.

San Bernardino LB Colbert Calhoun - SBVC lost their game with Mt. San Jacinto on Saturday by a score of 30-24, but Calhoun still managed to fill up the stat sheet, posting six tackles, one sack, two tackles-for-loss and a pass breakup. Calhoun leads the Wolverines with 35 tackles and has also posted 2.5 sacks, 4.5 tackles-for-loss and a pass breakup.

Compton LB Maurice Simmons - Simmons had 12 tackles and a tackle-for-loss, but Compton still fell by a score of 48-21 to East Los Angeles.

DeAnza LB Nikki Webber - Webber totaled 10 tackles (six solo), one sack and 1.5 tackles-for- loss, but DeAnza dropped their game with College of the Sequoias by a score of 16-14.

Allan Hancock LB William Iribarren - The sophomore totaled 10 tackles (seven solo) and two tackles-for-loss as the Bulldogs downed rival Bakersfield by a final score of 20-17. In just four games, Iribarren has managed to post 52 tackles one sack, seven tackles-for-loss and two pass breakups.

Citrus LB Terrance Manderville - Manderville, a sophomore, finished with eight tackles (six solo), one sack and four tackles-for-loss in Citrus’ thrilling 28-21 win over El Camino.

Los Angeles Harbor LB Shawn Stephens - Stephens finished with 11 tackles and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in Harbor’s 62-7 loss to Long Beach.

Mesabi Range LB Elvin Turner - Turner totaled 23 tackles and two tackles-for-loss in the Norsemen's 12-0 loss to Dakota-Bottineau.

Mesa LB Wesley Payne - The freshman linebacker racked up 14 tackles in a 53-40 win over New Mexico Military. So far this season, in five games, Payne has posted 68 tackles and an interception.

Mesa LB Rodney Jones - Jones, another freshman, had a big day in the T-Birds' 53-40 win over NMMI, posting 13 tackles on the day. In six games this season, the talented linebacker prospect has totaled 50 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception.

Northwest Mississippi LB Terry Caldwell - The Rangers lost to Hinds by a score of 31-17, but Caldwell still had a solid night, posting 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and a quarterback hurry. The UNC Charlotte bounceback currently leads NW Mississippi with 57 tackles and has also posted three tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, one interception and a pass breakup.

New Mexico Military LB Dondre Wright - The sophomore posted nine tackles, two tackles-for-loss and a quarterback hurry, but it wasn’t enough as the Broncos fell to Mesa by a score of 53-40.

Butler LB Travis Steenson - Steenson, a sophomore, had nine tackles, 2.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles-for-loss in Butler’s 57-0 win over Air Force Prep.

Lackawanna LB Raynard Revels - Revels totaled eight tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack in the Falcons’ 47-44 loss to Nassau.
