Top Performers - Defensive Backs

Here's a run down of some of the top JUCO defensive back performances from this past weekend including the big day posted by Shasta's Jonathan Hagler in a win over Mendocino...

Shasta S Jonathan Hagler - The freshman totaled six tackles and two interceptions while helping lead Shasta to a 63-35 win over Mendocino. Hagler currently is tied with two other players for the most interceptions in the state with six and he also has posted 42 tackles in just six games from his safety spot.

Cerritos CB Anthony Murray - The freshman corner has locked down his side of the field this season for the Falcons, posting 44 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, one fumble recovery and a team-leading four interceptions and seven pass breakups.

Glendale CB Jaelen Rising-Barnwell - The sophomore corner had one tackle and two interceptions in Glendale’s 44-0 win over Antelope Valley. So far this season the talented defensive back has posted 15 tackles and ranks fourth in the state with five interceptions to go along with seven pass breakups.

Laney CB Yusef Sterling-Lowe - The sophomore corner had three tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception in Laney’s big 41-7 win over Fresno last Friday. In five games, Lowe has racked up 15 tackles, 10 pass breakups and three interceptions.

West Hills S Greg Haywood - The freshman safety posted two tackles and two interceptions as well as a pass breakup in West Hills’ 48-43 win over Reedley last weekend.

Grossmont CB Airric Parker - Parker had five tackles and two interceptions in the Griffs’ 41-27 win over Saddleback.

Phoenix S Keith Graham - Graham has been all over the place for the Bears. So far this season, the senior free safety has posted 113 tackles, one sack and one tackle-for-loss. Last weekend in his team’s 31-0 loss to Glendale, Graham posted 14 tackles.

Eastern Arizona S Terrell Hannah - The freshman had 11 tackles and 1.5 sacks in the Gila Monster’s 49-10 win over New Mexico Military. This season, Hannah has racked up 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks in five games.

Monroe S Leonardo Lorenzo - The sophomore safety hauled in two key interceptions as well as five tackles and two tackles-for-loss in the Mustangs’ 14-13 win over Lackawanna.

Tyler S Darian Morris - In Tyler’s 58-45 loss to Navarro, Morris posted 13 tackles and an interception. In eight games this season, Morris has racked up 43 tackles, three tackles-for-loss and two interceptions for the Apaches.

Mississippi Gulf Coast S Justin Evans - The Texas A&M commit led the way with nine tackles (seven solo), but the Bulldogs still dropped their game with Co-Lin by a score of 29-26. So far this season, the redshirt freshman has racked up 31 tackles and an interception.

Fort Scott S James Gray - Gray notched two interceptions as well as six tackles in the Greyhounds’ 32-28 win over Garden City. In eight games this season, the talented sophomore has rung up 65 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles.
