Foster Talks Visits, Recruiting

Coffeyville S Devonta Foster (6-1, 190) currently holds 10 offers and caught up with the talented safety prospect and he updated us on his recruiting as well as where he plans to visit over the next six weeks...

"Currently I have offers from Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Georgia State, James Madison, Kennesaw State, Louisiana-Lafayette, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi and Weber State," Foster told "I visited South Alabama back in July and I have a visit set to James Madison next weekend, Louisiana-Lafayette on November and a trip set up with Bowling Green set up for the weekend of December 12th.

"I'm also working on setting up a visit with Southern Mississippi, but I am not sure which weekend it is going to be."

Foster can play both free and strong safety and he brings an attitude when he arrives at the ball.

"I like to play both (the pass and the run)," Foster noted. "I like to man-up and play coverage, but I love to come up and put my nose in the pile. I really don't care where I play as long as I'm on the field."

So far this season, Foster has racked up 56 tackles, one sack, 4.5 tackles-for-loss, one interception and three pass breakups from his free safety spot and, by the time he's done with the Red Ravens, he will have started over 20 games in two seasons.

As a prep in South Carolina, Foster was a solid prospect who got looks from several schools, however he was unable to qualify, so he decided to head to Coffeyville to continue his football career.

"They were the only school showing me interest and I just felt like it was a good chance for me to come in and play and get an offer from a big-time school," Foster noted.

Foster is on pace to finish up his academic work in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2014 football season.
