Three Offers And Counting For Mahoni

College of San Mateo OL Kiola Mahoni (6-3, 288) has seen recruiting pick up over the past couple of weeks. He now has three offers with his latest coming from an SEC program that has been at or near the top of the rankings all season long...

"I just got offered by Mississippi State tonight when they were here at my home," a happy Mahoni told JCFootball.com shortly after concluding his in-home visit. "I already had offers from Cincinnati and Louisville and I've been talking with Arizona State and Temple a lot too."

Mahoni has visits set to Mississippi State on January 23rd and Louisville on January 16th.

The talented prospect started every game for the Bulldogs this season, manning the right guard spot and he said his innate ability to move his opponent off the line.

"I get good push on guys off the line of scrimmage and with my strength and technique, I have the ability to drive block well," Mahoni noted.

Mahoni prepped at Woodside (Ca.) High School and he planned to enroll at Foothill after he figured he wouldn't qualify for a scholarship to a four-year school. However, after seeing the CSM program up close, he decided to become a Bulldog instead.

"I just felt like it was a better place for me," Mahoni said. "I liked the coaches here and the program here is really great. I liked coach 'T' (CSM defensive coordinator Tim Tulloch) and I felt it was right for me to come here."

Mahoni will not finish up his two-year degree until May and he will have three years to play two starting in the fall of 2015.
