Ward's Versatility Makes Him Popular

Pima ATH Shane Ward (5-9, 184) can do it all and has some options to consider already...

Ward prepped at Cedar Grove (Ellenwood, Ga.) High School, but he was unable to qualify for a scholarship to a four-year school, so he decided to head to Arizona and play for Pima.

"I was all set to head to Arizona Western actually and then a buddy of mine, an old teammate, he was playing at Pima and I decided to move over to play with him," Ward told JCFootball.com.

As a sophomore this season, Ward was sort of a jack-of-all-trades, totaling over 500 yards of offense while also posting 13 tackles as a defensive back.

"I played more, DB,WR,&Slot this year, they just didn't use me right switching me into different positions where we really needed it and on the return teams," Ward said. "They didn't really know where they wanted to use me the most, so I just sorta did everything."

On the recruiting front, Ward currently holds offers from the likes of Akron, Prairie View, Memphis and Southern Mississippi.

"All of them like me as a slot guy and a wide receiver type and also as a return specialist," Ward noted. "UTSA is close to offering me too. I think that one will happen soon, but at this point, they haven't offered."

Ward does a lot of his damage in space, using his legit 4.35 speed (10.83 100 meters) and super quickness to make guys miss.

Ward is on pace to finish up his two-year degree this spring and he will have three years to play two starting in 2015.
