Carson Talks About The Future

Butler RB Chris Carson (6-1, 210) has been committed to Georgia for months, but that hasn't stopped new schools from offering and trying to get him to come on a visit. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented tailback recently and he updated us on where things stand and where his future lies...

"I'm still solidly committed to Georgia. That's what I want everyone to know," Carson told JCFootball.com while spending time with his family over the holidays. "I have gotten some new offers, the one that just came in recently was from Oklahoma State and I'm keeping my mind open to things, but I love Georgia and that's where I plan on playing (after he finishes up his academic work this coming spring)."

Oklahoma State came on recently and they told him they want to get him up to Stillwater for a visit.

"They're wanting me to come up and check things out," Carson said. "I'm not planning on it right now, but you never know. I might make that trip."

Carson had planned to visit Louisville, but he cancelled that trip as well.

"I just have taken the one visit, to Georgia for their game against Clemson, and that's it and that might be all I take," Carson said. "I'm liking the coaches there. They were just up (at the beginning of December) for an in-home with me and I just feel really good about where things are with them and my future there."

As a freshman in 2013, Carson totaled 611 yards and a team-leading eight scores and he followed that up this season by rushing for 992 yards and nine touchdowns, leading the team in both carries once again.

"We had four really good running backs, so I didn't get as many carries as I would have liked, but I had no problem taking a back seat so they could get more carries," Carson said. "I already had my offers and they were trying to get those guys some offers and some tape, so I didn't have a problem with it.

"We sorta fed off of each other and pushed each other. It was a good thing for us to have so many talented guys back there (in the backfield)."

Carson will sign his letter-of-intent on February 4th and he will have three years to play two starting in the fall of 2015.
