MWC Program Is Latest To Offer JUCO D-Lineman

Highland DL Darnell Thompson (6-4, 275) added his 9th offer recently when a Mountain West school decided to throw their hat in the ring...

Thompson informed JCFootball.com that he has received an offer from Fresno State.

The Bulldogs join the likes of Appalachian State, Georgia State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Ohio, Purdue, Southern Mississippi, UAB and Western Kentucky in offering the versatile defensive line prospect.

Thompson visited Ohio the first weekend of December and he said he is in the midst of setting up a visit to see Purdue at some point in January.

As a freshman this season, Thompson played both defensive end spots as well as defensive tackle for the Scotties front four and he finished the season with close to 20 tackles and three sacks.

"I can stop the run or rush the quarterback, whatever my team needs from me, so I feel like I can do it all," Thompson said.

Thompson is on pace to finish up his academic work in May and he will have three years to play three starting in the fall of 2015.
