Long Beach OT Signs With SDSU

Long Beach freshman OT Ryan Pope (6-6, 305) could have returned to play for the Vikings this coming season and would likely have been one of the top JUCO tackles available. However, when San Diego State came along and said they wanted him to enroll now, the offer was too good to pass up and the big and talented offensive line prospect signed with the Aztecs earlier today...

Long Beach head coach Brett Peabody informed JCFootball.com that Pope committed to and signed with San Diego State earlier today.

Pope already had plenty of schools showing him lots of early interest, but none of them offered him as a player that could come in right away.

The Aztecs came in and offered and will now have the luxury of possibly redshirting Pope this fall.

The talented offensive lineman will enroll at SDSU on January 23rd and he will have four years to play three starting this fall.
