Still Available - JUCO Specialists

A look at which JUCO specialists -- kickers, punters and long-snappers -- are still available including mid-year prospects who can sign right now...

Butte K/P Rigoberto Sanchez (6-1, 185) - Sanchez handled place kicking and kickoff duties as a freshman in 202 – 11 of 19 on field goal attempts (long of 54) – and handled place kicking, kickoff duties and punting duties as a sophomore in 2013 – 11 of 16 on field goal attempts (long of 50) and 38.5 yard average on 50 punts with a long of 60 and 13 dropped inside of the 20. Spent the past 12 months getting his academics in order and now has his two-year degree and is eligible to leave right away with two to play two starting in 2015.

Riverside P Anthony Johnston (6-2, 195) - As a freshman in 2013, Johnston averaged 38.6 yards on 42 punts with a long of 67 while dropping 15 inside the 20. Johnston redshirted this past fall, so he will have three years to play three starting this fall.

Riverside K Jimmy Camacho (5-11, 185) - The freshman was a full-qualifier out of high school and he had a big season for the Tigers this past fall, hitting 21 of his 26 kicks with a long of 53 and also went 46 of 46 on extra points to finish with 109 points on the season. Fresno State just came in with an offer and several other schools are after Camacho now that it’s out that he’s available with four years to play three wherever he winds up.

College of the Sequoias P Joe Figenshaw (6-2, 224) - In nine games, Figenshaw averaged 39.6 yards on 46 punts with a long of 55 yards, 12 that he dropped inside the 20, 13 fair catches and just three touchbacks.

Moorpark K Derek Kirk (5-8, 175) - Starter in 2012 and was 11 of 11 on field goals that season, earning First Team All-Conference honors even though he broke his leg during the seventh game. Redshirted in 2013. Went 6 of 8 this past season with a long of 45 while also making 18 of his 20 extra point attempts.

Moorpark P Chris Taylor (6-2, 218) - Taylor can double as a kicker if necessary, but his main focus for the Raiders has been as a punter. This season he managed to average 38.4 yards on 55 punts with a long of 58 while dropping 19 inside the 20 and forcing two fair catches and just one touchback.

Ventura K Jake Lanski (5-9, 185) - Kicker with a strong leg who earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors after going 15 of 20 with a long of 40 on the season. Lanski, a full-qualifier greyshirted in 2013, so he has four years to play three if he were to find a place to play in 2015.

College of San Mateo K/P Justin Watts (5-10, 180) (May)- Watts went 8 of 13 and had a long of 39 yards. He also handled some of the punting duties for the Bulldogs, averaging 31.1 yards on 12 punts with a long of 38. Watts redshirted in 2013, so he will have three years to play three starting this fall if he finds a place to play.

Nassau LS Dennis Long (6-4, 255) - Long is a Troy bounceback. He’s got the ability to snap for both punts and field goals. He is ready to leave now and would be a great fit at the FCS or FBS level.

Hutchinson P Stetson Broce (6-3, 215) - Broce had a solid season for the Blue Dragons this past fall, managing to average 35 yards on 64 punts with a long of 71, an amazing 27 dropped inside the 20 and 20 that were forced fair catches. Broce is ready to leave right now and he will have three years to play two starting this fall.
