Cota Is A Runner Looking For A Home

After a huge sophomore Modesto RB Anthony Cota (6-2, 227) is still looking for a place to play in 2015. JCFootball.com caught up with the big and productive tailback recently and he updated us on where things stand...

"I've only been talking to Southeastern Louisiana and a bunch of D-2 schools," the talented tailback told JCFootball.com recently.

As a sophomore this past season, Cota carried the ball 192 times for 1,315 yards and 16 touchdowns, earning All-Conference, All-State and All-American honors in the process.

"I would say I'm a pretty balanced back," Cota said. "I can be a speed back or a physical runner depending on the situation."

Cota enjoyed a standout prep career at nearby Sierra (Manteca, Ca.) High School, but because he was unable to qualify, he had to go the JUCO route.

"It's only about 25 minutes from my high school and some of the better guys from my area were going there so I knew we would have a good offense," Cota said.

Cota will finish up his academic work this summer and he will have three years to play two starting this fall wherever he winds up.
