After graduating from Plano (Tx.) High School, Lagow signed with Connecticut, but that didn't last and he soon found his way to Oklahoma State where he spent the 2013 season redshirting.
"I left Oklahoma State after summer workouts (in 2014) and came to Cisco (for fall camp)," Lagow told JCFootball.com earlier this week. "I really just wasn't getting reps. I got there at a bad time when they had several great quarterbacks, and I got there after camp so the guys that were there before me had gotten reps and I just didn't see a way for me to be able to move up the depth chart there."
After searching around, Lagow settled on Cisco due to his relationship with the head coach there.
"I didn't know much about Jucos, and I like coach (Dionte) Dean a lot," Lagow said. "I have a great relationship with him."
As a redshirt freshman this past fall, Lagow threw for 2,900 yards and 29 touchdowns in just seven games.
On the recruiting front, things have begun to pick up for the huge signal-caller, although he's still waiting for an offer he can't refuse.
"I had a Lamar offer at the end of the fall and Southeast Louisiana was talking to me," Lagow noted. "Prairie View A&M just talked to me and the LSU coaches asked me to make a workout tape for them so they can get a look at me."
Lagow hopes to find a a place to play this fall and if he does, he would have three years to play three. However, he is also willing to wait for the right opportunity to present itself and is prepared to return to Cisco for the 2015 season if that doesn't materialize.
