Nocciolo enjoyed a very nice prep career at North Arlington (NJ) High School and he had quite a few schools from the Eastern Seaboard giving him a long look, however, he was unable to get qualified for a scholarship, so he opted to head to ASA to get his academics right and to hone his skills as a passer.
"I'm probably stronger in the pocket, but my size and speed I get wherever I need to go," Nocciolo told JCFootball.com recently.
As a freshman, Nocciolo's stats weren't eye-popping -- 86 of 169 for 1,044 yards with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions -- however, some of that is owed to the fact that the Avengers featured a very good running tandem in Joseph Williams and Cory Bell.
On the recruiting front, Nocciolo had some offers to choose from, but he's decided to wait and see if some bigger programs come calling.
"I had four offers I didn't want to bite on because they were all D-2," Nocciolo noted. "I've talked to Temple and Rhode Island, but so far, that's all it's really been."
Nocciolo delayed his enrollment back in 2013, choosing to greyshirt and enroll in January of 2014. This allowed him to take part in spring ball and get ahead on his academics. Because of that decision, he has finished his AA degree and he is eligible to leave right now and he will have four years to play three if he finds the right opportunity to transfer to this spring or summer.
