Georgia Military LB Has Hopes For Big Season

After a season at Mississippi State, Georgia Military LB Mannie Lowery (6-1, 237), hopes a big season with the Bulldogs results in another opportunity to play at a four-year program...

Following his the completion of his prep career at Luella (Locust Grove, Ga.) High School, Lowery signed with Mississippi State, but grades and other things got in his way.

"I had a few grade issues that are corrected now and I really just wasn't comfortable there," Lowery told "Georgia Military is closer to my home and I've known people that came here and it's a good program.

"I think they can get me where I want to go."

Coming out of high school, Lowery had offers from Mississippi State, Alabama State, Middle Tennessee State and Georgia State and a hopes a solid season for the Bulldogs notches him some opportunities.

"I can play the run or the pass and I feel like a good season here and help me get back to where I want to be," Lowery noted.

With his academics back in order, Lowery is on pace to finish up his two-year degree this December and he will have three years to play two following the 2015 football season.
