“I have offers right now from Southern Mississippi, Buffalo, Bethune-Cookman, Monmouth and Idaho,” Calhoun told “Besides those schools, Arizona State, West Virginia, Western Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Oklahoma and Illinois.”

Calhoun has hopes to take two or three of his official visits this summer, but, at this point none are scheduled.

“I’m not 100% surebut I would like to go to Sothern Miss, Buffalo and Idaho this summer,” Calhoun added. “ I'm going to be contacting each school to set things up and talk about it.”

After a very good prep career at Paducah Tilghman High School in Paducah, Kentucky, Calhoun signed with Kentucky State, a D-2 program in the state. However, after two seasons there, he decided a change was in order so he began to look around for a JUCO program to continue his football career.

“Well out of high school I was highly recruited by a lot of big programs but my grades didn't let me go to them,” Calhoun noted. “I was there for a year and a half and then I had a friend that I knew in high school that told me about Lackawanna and he introduced me To the coaches and I came here this spring.

“I redshirted and then played (the 2014 season) at Kentucky State.”

Once Calhoun arrived at Lackawanna, he was initially put in at left tackle and that is where he will be once the season gets underway.

“I’m good at outside zone and get to the next level pretty good,” Calhoun said. “I am a good pass-blocker also, but I just need more knee bend during both.”

Calhoun is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have two years to play two following the 2015 football season.
