Decision Time Looms For Parker
"I just got an offer from Purdue and I just finished my official visit to Houston which had offered me earlier," Parker told JCFootball.com recently. "I will visit Purdue on June 12th and then after I get back I will make my decision."
As a two-year starter at Blinn, Parker locked down his side. He finished last season with 17 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, two interceptions, three pass breakups and a blocked kick.
"I am best in man coverage. I really like bump-and-run and I feel I am a very coachable athlete," Parker said. "Things I am still working on a lot are my strength and my overall technique."
As a prep, Parker was recruited by several schools out of Kingwood Park High School in Texas, but he was unable to qualify, so he opted to sign with Blinn to continue his football career.
"I really just liked coach (Thomas) Rocco," Parker noted. "He's just a great guy and a great coach too."
Parker is on pace to finish up his two-year degree this summer and he will have three years to play two starting this fall.
