"I am probably a better zone guy than anything just because of how hard I work on my technique," Octavious Morgan told JCFootball.com. "I am strong when the ball is in the air and I can read things well and make good breaks on passes."
While locking down his side of the field the first three games, Morgan has posted 17 tackles, three interceptions and four pass breakups.
So far, recruiting has been a little slow, but things should pick up once schools get a look at his game film.
"Utah State is the only school that has hit me up so far, but I have been getting a lot of mail from Kansas State, Cal, Iowa State, Marshall and Nebraska," Morgan noted.
As a prep at Greenville (SC) High School, Morgan was a sought-after prospect by some smaller schools, but he was unable to qualify, so he decided to head to Butler to focus on his academic work while also joining a friend who recommended the Grizzly football program.
"Davon Durant who was here last year came from my high school," Morgan said. "He was telling me about it and I just came with him."
Morgan is on pace to finish up his academic work in the spring and he will have three years to play two following the 2015 football season.
