Whitner just wrapped up his sophomore season, finishing with 41 tackles and an interception.
"I have offers from Arkansas State, Colorado State, Georgia, Georgia Southern, UMass and Nebraska," A'Keitheon Whitner told JCFootball.com recently. "I am not sure where I stand with Illinois because I haven't heard from them much since the coaching change."
Whitner recently took a trip to Colorado State and he said he's hoping to set up a visit with Nebraska in the near future.
As a freshman in 2014, Whitner totaled 22 tackles and an interception while working into the Gila Monsters' secondary rotation.
Whitner is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have three years to play two starting in 2016.
