Week One

 

Quarterbacks

• Mt. San Antonio's Greg Valenzuela (6-1, 190, So, QB) was 23-of-36 for 472 yards and six touchdowns.

• Palomar's Andy Goodenough (6-4, 217, So, QB, Corvallis, OR) threw for 326 yards on 28-of-39 pass attempts and two TDs.

• Pasadena's Nathan Chandler (So, QB) threw for three touchdowns (195 passing yards) and ran for 58 yards.

• Riverside's Ronnie Hill (6-1, 190, Fr, QB, Temecula Valley) completed 13-of-22 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns in his Tiger debut.

  

Running Backs

• Santa Ana's Brandon Fischer (6-0, 220, So, RB, El Dorado) had a game-high 137 yards rushing on 19 carries, to go with 34 yards on three receptions (TD catch).

• Riverside's Marcus Guzman (6-0, 185, So, RB, Norco) ran for 127 yards on 17 carries (7.4 ypc) and three scores.

• Palomar's Rory Palmer (6-2, 225, So., RB, Mt. Carmel) carried the ball 18 times for 129 yards and two TDs.

• Orange Coast's Randy Gaither (5-9, 163, Fr, RB, Jordan) ran for a game-high 72 yards on 14 carries and scored on a seven-yard run with 3:07 left to give the Pirates the win.

 

Receivers

• Mt San Antonio's Aaron Hosack (6, 210, So, WR)  hauled in five passes for 215 yards and four touchdowns (70, 5, 86, 28)

• Riverside's Ricky Moore (6-0, 185, Fr, WR, Paloma Valley) led the Tigers with seven receptions for 130 yards and two TDs.

• Golden West's Brenden Cornell (6-0, 175, Fr, WR, Edison) led the Rustlers with seven catches for 125 yards.

• Cerritos' Chris Chatman (6-6, 200, So, WR, Tustin) had three receptions for 80 yards and two touchdowns (38, 37).

• Santa Ana's Tommy Roberts (6-2, 195, So, WR, Westminster) grabbed six catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

• Fullerton's Terrance Moore (6-5, 195, So, WR, Cypress) led the Hornets with four catches for 111 yards and a 25-yd TD.

• Palomar's Darryl Johnson (6-2, 195, Fr, WR, Oceanside) led the team with eight catches for 73 yards and one score.

 

Defense

• Cerritos' Rajaee Barnett (6-1, 225, So, LB, Downey) registered a team-high 11 tackles (four solo) and a QB hurry.

• Saddleback's Jake Jaca (6-1, 190, So, SS, Madras, OR) was credited for nine tackles, including three of the Gauchos' 10 QB sacks; he also broke up a pass, caused two fumbles and recovered one.

• Fullerton's Ben Wilson (6-3, 240, Fr, DE, Brea Olinda) recorded eight total tackles (4 solo); two tackles for loss; one sack for minus 13 yards; in the Hornets' shutout win.

• Cerritos' Phillip Perry (6-3, 240, So, LB, Lakewood) had seven tackles (three solo); one sack; and he blocked a 37-yd FG with 1:20 left to preserve the Falcon win.

• Riverside's Thomas McKenzie (Fr, DL, Etiwanda) had a team-high seven tackles, including two for minus 12 yards.

• Santa Ana's Chad Kalilimoku (6-0, 235, So, LB, Roosevelt, HI) tallied 11 tackles (five solo) in the Dons' upset win over Canyons.

• El Camino's Brian Smith (Fr, LB) led the Warriors with 12 tackles (nine solo).
