We expected the San Mateo Bulldogs to be a good team in 2001, hence their pre-season ranking of 23rd in the state.  The Bulldogs got things going in a major way with a huge win over Diablo Valley.  The Bulldogs have implemented a new "Georgia Southern" style misdirection offense, to allow quarterback Jason Douglas to use all of his athleticism.  Watch for the Bulldogs to be a strong team this season.  Here are some photos from game #1.

Thanks to College of San Mateo photographer Linda Herman for providing us with some images of CSM's win over Diablo Valley.

San Mateo's standout defensive lineman Ryan Boschetti led a defense that held the Diablo Valley offense to 14 points.

San Mateo sophomore quarterback Jason Douglas picked up right where he left off at the end of the 2000 season, hurting teams with his legs and his arm.  He led the Bulldogs to a 56 point performance.

Diablo Valley receiver Marcus Maxwell provided some of the few highlights for DVC, as he hauls in one of his two touchdown receptions on the day.
