"I received an offer from Iowa State," Burrell told JCFootball.com late Sunday night. "I'm working on setting up a visit to see the school right now, but I haven't finalized anything yet.
"I have to talk more with coach D.K. McDonald on a specific date, but I know it'll be in the coming weeks."
In addition to his offer from Iowa State, Burrell noted he's been talking with TCU and he also has an offer from New Mexico as well.
"They both have talked about tripping me to see their school, but I'm waiting to see if I qualify to get into their schools right now," Burrell noted. "They had planned on bringing me out on a visit and I'm pretty sure that's when (TCU) had planned on offering."
Burrell had an offer from Purdue during the season, but with their coaching changes, his offer wasn't good anymore.
"New Mexico has offered and I have also talked to Colorado as well," Burrell noted.
Last season, while playing both free safety and cornerback, Burrell led the team with seven pass breakups while finishing second with 48 tackles and also posting two interceptions, four tackles-for-loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
JCFootball.com will have more on Burrell in the coming days as he gets closer to setting up his official visit to Iowa State and possibly TCU and New Mexico.
