"I have offers right now from Utah and San Diego State," Patton told JCFootball.com in a recent conversation. "Tennessee, Indiana and Missouri are schools that have been talking to me, but they haven't offered yet."
As a freshman last season, Patton led the Matadors with four touchdown receptions while posting 17 catches for 316 yards.
"I'm very versatile for my size, I can play on the line , at slot and outside receiver," Patton noted. "I also run a 4.56 forty, so I cause some mis-matches in the secondary with my size and also my speed.
"I would defiantly say I'm more of a receiving,vertical-threat tight end, but I have no problem putting my hand in the ground and doing the dirty work."
As a prep at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, Patton was actually a much sought-after basketball prospect, but his heart lay on the gridiron, so, after some thinking and searching, he settled on Arizona Western.
"As a program, some of the things they have accomplished are amazing and they also have two tight ends that played for them that are in the NFL now and they also have one at Arizona State, so I just thought it was a good fit for me because it would give me the best chance to get better and have a chance at moving on to the next level," Patton added.
The talented tight end is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2016 football season.
